OP updated. Assassin's Creed still going strong. Sony need to announce at least one new bundle for this month at a great price if they want to catch up, at least on amazon

Hmm... im not sure Sony needs to announce a new bundle, its sales are solid. I think Microsoft's own deals need to hold steady to beat the PS4.  The PS4's greatest advantage is its consistency.  It can win just by holding the same spot all month.

I'm not convinced right now.  To win the month in the current situation (using Amazon so not exactly perfect) then by the end of the month the top two skus need to be the regular PS4 and the Destiny bundle by some distance to make up for multiple X1 skus doing well. I don't see that happening at this stage

I think there is something to be said for consistency but I understand and appreciate your point of view.

The more it sells, the more they lose. The percentage of market share they may gain by doing this in the short run won't justify the loss.

I believe they know better than you do about that (bold) :)
More marketshare = more game, live, accessory sales = more money at the end...

MS know more than us, and sure they have more money than us :)       but a 1% more in market share never justify a huge loss of money with so many price cut and free games.     The problem for MS is that this lack of success was unaspected; they really believed in their product, they way they conceived it as an Ultimate entertainment system, XOne + Kinect2, but sadly for them it didn't work, so MS changed their mind, trying something---> Kinect-less One, free game into bundle, other price cut, but this has nothing to do with what you said, they are simply trying to not be utterly crushed by Sony, and save their face.  Even my cat knows that too many price cut and free games into bundle starting after only 4 months from release is not a very good signal.  They were not expecting PS4 to do so well and XOne to do so weak, that's all.  What they are doing now is just a consequence.  Don't call it a smart move please...

If Sega was the Company behind XOne, it would have ended like Sega Dreamcast !   But you know MS are rich, so it won't happen.

Buying a console is a commitment. Do you think the people buying the Xbox One right now are going to have it without purchasing any software ever? MS is able to depend on its great Tie Ratios of Xboxes and subscriptions to justify a price cut. Its fact that Xbox gamers buy more games. Even since OG Xbox.

XB1 doing very well in the US, as I expected. My prediction seems to be right.

If you don't know crap, don't talk crap.

We don't need idiots like you on this site.

X1 is having a real party this holiday season. We all know why. It's exclusive games. Playstation has no notable ones all season, until 2015 with Bloodborne. X1 has Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizons, Halo TMCC and CoD exclusive content working for it. As well as in 2015 Quantum Break, Scalebound, Crackdown as well as undoubedly more to announce. This is good news for all single-platform gamers. Execs at Microsoft have realised, and Sony execs (having seen the sales) will too realise that exclusive games are selling consoles this gen. More than seemingly ever before. We can expect an increase in quality and quantity of Exclusive games from both companies looking into the future. This is good news!

PS4 has many exclusives this holiday and next year which you've missed on purpose.

Sony has marketing deals for Far cry 4 and GTA V which are getting releaed on Nov 18th. So just wait for few more days then they will annouce many bundles. They have unique advantage this year related to family bundle with LBP3 and Lego Batman instead of regular action and shooter games. Also they are planning big for black friday.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Exclusives are not selling consoles and its 3rd party games more along with price and diverse library. Look at PS4 first year which did outsell XB1 2:1 WW so far without notable exclusives where MS had many exclusives so far but it did not work so they desperately went to price cuts and free games to compete with PS4. Also right now sony is not doing any promotions like MS yet still PS4 doing great at that price, soon in a week PS4 is going to bring their bundles of Far cry  4, GTA V and LBP3 which will push the PS4 more than XB1 for last two weeks.

PS4 has great start from 2015 with three exclusives and 3rd party advantage like they had so far from great games like Witcher 3, Batman etc., but Microsoft has nothing annouced to release for first half of 2015 yet which attracts users like they do with MCC, SO and price cuts(they are brining back price to normal from Jan).

As for Black Friday. So far it doesnt look like any extra deals. The only Black Friday advertisement with the PS4 is the GTAV/Last of Us Bundle for $400 or the LBP/Lego Batman Bundle for $400 from Meijer with a $50 instore credit for future purchase.  At the same time Meijer has the X1 AC Bundle for $330 and also gets the $50 instore credit.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I know but we have rumours that Sony is planning big for Black friday with some bundle deals because GTA V, LBP 3 and Far Cry 4 is releasing on 18 close to black friday, so many people are going to hold their purchases for black friday instead of buying GTA V and Far Cry 4 bundles. So sony is planning to do promotions from black friday instead of week before the game release.
