Both PS4 and WiiU adjusted down.

Looks like the Xbox One will overtake the WiiU this year.

Not if the Wii U keeps going up as much percent as it has been. I think this week the new Sonic comes out along with Batman lego 3. Should not fall too much. Plus Captain Toad in Japan, and then the week after is Smash I believe in US. Watch Dogs, etc.

So smash then. Because thats the only chance Wii U has. And its a very slim one against Sunset Overdrive, COD, AC Unity, Halo MCC, GTA V and Far Cry 4.

I am dubious about the impact of Sonic Boom, Lego Batman 3 or Watch Dogs.

But Smash Bros is pretty much the cream of the crop when it comes to system sellers, and could stop the Xbox One overtaking for 2014 at least.

Time will tell.

Not that it matters when it over takes the Wii U. It is bound to happen eventually. Too many reasons for people not to go to X1 over Wii U. Soon the price will be another good reason.

I think the WiiU is the better second console for those who can afford it.

I was expecting something more from Bayonetta. Hopefully it's undertracked, lol.

Its only 20k of Bayo 1's US launch, technically Bayonetta 1's best FW SKU is the WiiU =P

Well.. that´s a surprise. Then Bayo2 didn´t do bad, but not as much as Nintendo probably wanted

I was genuinely expecting Bayonetta to do ~50k first week in the USA

Says the man who was ...what....750,000 off on MK8 numbers? :p

You need more faith! Do you even have a Wii U?

According to VGC numbers for the US, Bayonetta 1 sold ~90k on Xbox 360 FW and ~50k on PS3. That, technically, makes the Wii U the console with the best first week of any Bayonetta 1 SKU. :P

Also, Bayonetta 2 is not that far off from Bayonetta 1's overall first week either (121,752 - 144,737). I'm genuinely surprised. Now, of course, all of these are VGC estimates, so the numbers could go either way (overtracked for 1 and undertracked for 2 or vice versa/both overtracked/both undertracked). Also, Bayonetta was released in January in the US while 2 was released in October, so that might have influenced the situation as well. Either way, I'm happy for it. It's not great, but it could have been far worse.

So they refuse to add sales to a region because they can't determine where they're being sold, but deducting them is perfectly fine?

Starting to see why some sites ban or don't take this place serious.

Like others have mentioned , if it weren't for the forums and the good community here I would have given up on this site long ago. Things need to be done more professionally ; For example, why can't we have an official thread that tells us what's been adjusted or changed regarding sales? I think this sites' community deserves to be kept in the loop and to be told things upfront, instead of slyly altering things as its done now.

About as was expected for this week. Now things get interesting.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I'm wondering about one thing, how to estimate number of machines stores have on the shelves?
I have been to two electronic supermarkets and both had really big piles of xb1:s and ps4:s (but both stores had just a single wii-u)
My guess is that they keep a big stock preparing for Christmas sales.
And now how to estimate number of ps4:s and xb1 on shelves.
Probably only MS and Sony can know how many they produced, and how many of those that contacted their servers.
So if someone say 2 mil ps4:s on shelves are impossible, how do they know/calculate that?

These figures make zero sense, why was the PS4 adjusted down of all things? I wonder how on earth anyone could reach that conclusion given the latest batch of shipment numbers.

Predictably, Bayo 2 did virtually nothing for the Wii U hardware sales, all hardware saw a sales increase and with a low baseline to begin with, the percentage is bound to be higher, just like the 1800% (I think it was that) increase in Japan last October when people went bonkers. That said; the software sale themselves are a bit higher than I expected, I figured Bayo 2 would sell somewhere between half and 2/3 of that after the Japan release. Still; the 1 million lifetime crowd have got to get down to earth again very soon, it's just not going to happen and won't even be close seeing as how it was out of the Japanese top 40 after a month and dropped from a 6th place debut in the UK and straight out of the top 50 in the second week, it is safe to say that this title won't have any kind of legs.

I like how you added PS4 discussion in this post.

Did anyone expect Bayo2 to really do anything for the U? The only game that will boost sales this year are Smash U. But everything else just keep making it harder and harder to ignore the system. It takes a library and sought after games to sell a system. Even when the great Nintendo is that company.

Would you rather I double-posted? The PS4 figures make so sense so I made a comment, I'm sorry that this offends you.

As for Bayo 2; yes, there were plenty of people who thought it would, it was cited as one of the primary helpers for keeping numbers up until Smash and quite frankly, I think that someone who spends as much in here as you do is aware of this fact.
I know that the only title after MK that will truly boost hardware this year is Smash but, like I said; there were many who argued otherwise and Bayonetta 2 has been made into a big deal by a lot of Wii U fans, even though it clearly never was and that is why I choose to comment on that as well since it is one of the main points of discussion for this week of sales.

Does a bunch of niche titles really make it harder and harder to ignore the system? I should think that the more culture there is for poor software sales on a platform; the less purchasing incentive there is for the average consumer. The Nintendo 1st party titles are the draw on the Wii U, and in my opinion they are they only draw, just look at how Ubi basically defecated on the Wii U version of Watchdogs, for instance or how little people care about CoD and Assassin's Creed and similar titles on this platform. Even past hits such as Just Dance, that were huge on the Wii, are being promptly ignored this time around.

For me, this draw is enough that I'll one day purchase a Wii U when the price is right, especially paired with the fact that I never owned a Wii and have two generations of 1st party titles to enjoy, but this is not a recipe for drawing in any amounts of customers outside of forum troglodytes such as ourselves and this has been fairly clear since the very beginning.
