Granted, if we include 7th gen then Destiny has trounced Halo 4 in the first 5 weeks of sales. Its currently at 6.8 million.

Halo 4 was 5.7 million at week 5. While Destiny on 8th gen is 5.1 million.

By week 10 Halo 4 reached 7.4 million.

It should also be noted Halo 4 was released closer to the holiday. So that may have gave it a sales edge.

1st year game sales compared to an established console hitting it's peak in sales and in overall ownership.

I don't think that argument always works. Most IPs tend to lose steam even if the userbase has grown.

For example, Gears 3 hasn't caught up to Gears 2 in spite of launching to a larger userbase.

It appears so, atleast physically. Maybe a ton of people bought digitally.

I'd say its a positive for Halo. Espeically considering many say that's the game that ruined the series and is universally hated. :-p

I do not even see what arguement you are even making based on this response. Your original post just states different games sales totals at the same point in total sales time. You make no conclusion about this. you just state dATA.

I think I made that clear in the OP.

There were predictions that Destiny on 8th gen would be ahead of Halo 4 by now.
