Nintendo will always be 'dooomed', they have been 'dooomed' for over a decade now.

But seriously I feel like there is far less doomspelling of Nintendo than every before. It can only mean the anti-Nintendo race is going back under their rocks.

Well the tricky thing about the Wii U for this quarter is Nintendo actually didn't pay for any of the Wii Us this quarter. 

They paid off the manufacturing costs of all the Wii Us they sold this quarter last quarter, so basically they ate a loss on these units last quarter so this quarter they could sell those systems at basically 100% profit. 

So their operating profit is likely artifically inflated for this quarter in some ways, but Nintendo traditionally almost always makes a profit for the holiday quarter anyway. 

We will have to wait and see then. Though i also meant that the Wii-U seems like a pretty bad design from a performance/price perspective. The newest Android tablets and the iPad Air 2 equal or beat the Wii-U in performance, while being pretty close in price(if you account for large Apple profit margin) while being true tablets with vastly superior screens and lower power consumption.

Seems like Nintendo made a very bad bet by going with PowerPC again.

If iPad Air 2 really does match the PS3/360 in performance, that's great for Nintendo. It means that by 2016, they should handily be able to release a handheld that can handle Wii U ports.

They are profitable? Not yet they arent. They havent made a profit yet, quarterly or 6 monthly results are meaningless. The full year figure is what decides is they have made a profit.

If you make a profit in a quarter but make an overall annual loss you never made a profit."


Huh shouldn't he be banned for this post? He is instigating an argument "Flaming". I have seen T-bone banned for similar stuff like this. He is going out of his way to try to start an argument on why it is or isn't a big deal that nintendo has 9.7bn assets.

Nintendo deserves this in my opinion. Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2 and Smashbros 3DS are my most enjoyable games this year.
