Nintendo is profitable again. 220 million in Q2, 4.5 billion in the bank (Excluding assets?)

Well the tricky thing about the Wii U for this quarter is Nintendo actually didn't pay for any of the Wii Us this quarter. 

They paid off the manufacturing costs of all the Wii Us they sold this quarter last quarter, so basically they ate a loss on these units last quarter so this quarter they could sell those systems at basically 100% profit. 

So their operating profit is likely artifically inflated for this quarter in some ways, but Nintendo traditionally almost always makes a profit for the holiday quarter anyway. 

We will have to wait and see then. Though i also meant that the Wii-U seems like a pretty bad design from a performance/price perspective. The newest Android tablets and the iPad Air 2 equal or beat the Wii-U in performance, while being pretty close in price(if you account for large Apple profit margin) while being true tablets with vastly superior screens and lower power consumption.

Seems like Nintendo made a very bad bet by going with PowerPC again.
