For one how do you even know the size. I have never once cared nor looked to see how large a patch is. Like someone else said. They just happen in the background. Why would I care.

For another, maybe it is because they arent just patches.  The Xbox One gets new features added all the time, not just patches.

It is because it adds time to play the game... these mandatory day one patch don't allow you to play the game without them... so you buy the BD and start to install (that takes a time already) and while that it download the mandatory 10GB patch that take even more time.

That is why Xbone users are loud about the installations wasting 40 minutes or more.

I guess I have never noticed, because I have always had the installations done while I am asleep or at work.  Purchase through Xbox.Com and the install just happens.  Pre-Ordered and pre-downloaded Sunset Overdrive and it was just there.

At this present point in time, Xbox One is not the inferior console. Not even close.

The PR disaster of 2013 will take time to heal. The console doesn't have a single flaw.

And no, resulition does not make a game better.

So if two games are completely identical except one is 900P and one is 1080p the one with 1080p isn't better? I have a hard time beliving anyone would agree with that.

I think the only time it was better was when XBox360 had a similar advantage over PS3 in regards to multiplat titles.

At least that is the impression I got when it thrown in everyones faces each time a game was released. That and constant threads about PS3 game install times.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot (and a bigger difference as well) it suddenly doesn't matter.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Seriously. What is bad about installation times.  So maybe the PS4 is faster, but who gives a rats ass.  I have never notice an install take very long.  Now I get everything digital so maybe installing from a disc takes longer, but again who gives a rats ass. It is done once and then over.

Seems you do given how defensive you are getting about the subject.  But maybe you dont and thats cool, but other might.  You sure dont speak for all.

By the way nothing more annoying and pathetic this day and age then getting a shiny new game throwing it in anticipating epic gaming just to stare at a loading page for hours.

My point is that it is such a miniscule issue. Like I responded to eThomas. I personally have never experienced it.  I purchase games digitally and 99% of the time I simply login to Xbox.Com purchase the game and it downloads and installs while I am not even home. Now with digital pre-purchase and download I do it days/weeks/months in advance.  I woke up on Tuesday and Sunset Overdrive was just waiting for me to play.  No stress no bother.

Some differences are mountains and some are molehills painted as mountains.

i have both consoles and prefer my x1 over my PS4.

Well you can judge even if you dont have both, we have review, forum post, news and sales numbers and friend who have other console. and Yes PS4 win by default in every part from , hardware, design, PSN, Exclusives, Price, OS, etc (future prove ).  :)

Well famous console doesn't mean better console or perfect by any means, but you cannot stop the hype, thanks to social media that make advertising and marketing become more and more reliable to spread the hype. PS4 is strong, even if Xbox One want to imitated PS3 way of defeating Xbox 360, they will fail. PS brand for the fourth times has proven to be the king of the king in console. :)

The measure.

The ipod had 75% marketshare that eventually rose to over 90%.

This isny remotely similar.  The ipod didnt just have the cool factor, it had almost 100% mindshare.

This isnt remotely the case with the PS4 and ONE despite how much some of you might think it is.

I figured that would be your reason. Though the scale is different the situation is largely the same.

Also, by the end of the gen the PS4 might have something like 60-70% market share if your just talking about PS4+XBO

and it would still be wrong.  because if you just take ipod and zune the ipod had 90%+ market share.

sigh...the marketshare gap isn't what makes this situation similar to the Zune/Ipod one. The PS4 has for all intents and purposes become the 8th gen console, much like how the Ipod defined it's market which made it nearly impossible for any competitor to make any real headway.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

And still, people like you are the ones who use the word 'underpowered' when you speak of the Wii U.

Sony is not Apple.

MS can hang with Sony but I think they have to get their marketing to be more aggressive and maybe even start targeting Sony directly.

This X a bajillion.  What makes it funnier is that, like you said, the differences are actually MUCH larger this time around.  Guess that's bias for you.
