I dunno whypeople are being anal about this.

Bottom line is that by this time last year you could only get an XB1 for $500.

Now you can get an XB1 with a game for $350. New sku, unbundled, limited time...whatever. Its a new price point. When its advertised what you wil see is starting at only $349.99.

it worked perfectly fine for ms

everone thinks the xbox one is 150 buck cheaper now. but for real its way less :)

Yup and that's a new perception problem MS has created. This thread already provides enough evidence that people expect it to keep dropping like that. Putting it back up to $400 in Januari is going to kill sales, and any bundle over $300 next holiday will look too expensive.

I made a chart to help with your predictions:

So according to this graph we will have a 99$ XB1 3 years after launch!

Even I would get the One at this price!

Not sure the logic here, unless your just trolling.

The XB1 has only dropped $50 since Launch.  The Kinectless sku can't be compared to the Kinect sku.

That's fair enough, but he's suggesting MS are price cutting (to suggest $200 at this point is pointless chatter). They've had a $50 price cut in a year. So by that rate, another 3 years.

If they drop the disc drive they could sell it for $200 right now without losing money. If the buyer regularly buys games.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

worked fine for the x360

after 299 for the big one and 199 for the 4gb / arcade model it never gets cheaper again if we talk about msrp.
it doest not hurt in every case. and right now its not devalueing. we should not listend to all the "if buy if its 250 bucks" shouts in the internet. thats mostly the same people how said "i buy if its 350 bucks" at launch, when the xb1 was 500 bucks only

i think we will see an arcade version, somewehere later in the lifecyle. maybe digital only, and/or only 64gb flash storage and games will be installed at external drives). that one will be the cheap entry in the 8th xbox generation

No one's posted the xkcd comic yet? I'm disappointed!

Maybe they'll do that cell phone plan thingy they did with the Xbox 360 where they sell it for super cheap with an inflated Xbox Live subscription. They tested the waters last gen. Maybe the time is right.

Yeah and keep in mind that Ms have a few other subs they could throw in to sweeten the deal now as well. Get yourself Xbox music and some from of contracted skype credit plan. Could be a decent way to rope people in with a really cheap upfront cost for the hardware.

As for a $200 X1, not any time soon, Unless you are willing to go to some pawn shop that is having a closing down sale you aren't going to be getting the system for that price this gen I would think. Even the Wii took years to get that low and the X1 is a ton of hardware for the cost atm even.

The Xbox one is in a totally different situation as the 360. Last gen the Wii got away with raising it's price in the UK, same this gen with PS4 in Canada. The Xbox One is in PS3's shoes now or actually worse.

A digital only version is possible, doubt we'll see a 64gb flash version. Might as well stick a drive in there as 64GB flash is not going to get you anywhere. The system already reserves 138GB of the 500GB hdd for the OS.

I keep hering this digital only version like taking out the disc drive somehow saves a lot of money. A 500Gb HDD costs them around $23, the bluray drive costs them around $25. Taking out the disc drive does not equate justifying a $50 price drop or rather, a sku that is $50 cheaper.

Selling ata loss is not gonna be a problem for MS as long as that loss is not more than $150. They would make that $150 right back from royalties from 10 thrid party games. A lot less if 2 or 3 of those games are Ms first part and lets not forget XBL subscriptions. Funny thing is, both sony and MS are in a position to slash off $150 from the consoles MSRP and go unscaved. There rae just too many ways to make that money back.

Right now, MS has much bigger problems against the PS4 besides "price". The tables have truly changed. The PS4 is arguably better than the XB1 on every conceiveable metric. Even the one area where MS always dominated which is their subscriptions service. MS has to first destroy that image or impression of the PS4 being the "better console" before it starts thinking about a price war. Or not people would just ignore it as being that cheap cause its inferior.
