The Americans also know that multiplatform games are best on PS4. And PS4 has some indie and first party games that are really desired by all gamers young and old.

Those FPS games you're talking about are available on both platforms, so there is little incentive to actually get an X1. Unless you really love Halo that is.

This mindset is nothing more than putting ones head in the sand. It could be that people in the home console market tend to favor no frills, game centric devices, at a better cost, with a clear message.

People are affected by marketing. When a product is marketed well, as the PS4 has been, it gets people in the door. Sustaining those sales takes word of mouth and a certain level of quality. You see, sales are not static nor a lifelong committment. Simply liking something because it is less popular as a self appointed sign of being more intelligent surrounds you with nothing but ignorance.

I would argue ignorance is attempting to force a square peg into a round hole or an all in one media hub into everyone living room without a clear pathway or justifiable reason. There is definately ignorance involved when it comes to why the PS4 is selling so well compared to the Xbox One. I just think you are pointing the ignorance stick in the wrong direction.

PS4 is more powerful, more popular, and X1 had a terrible reveal which really hurt the Xbox brand image. Plus it was more expensive for more than 6 months and by the time the price drop came, it was too late.

There is no brand loyalty in the US towards home consoles. Whatever console is hot, consumers will eventually gravitate towards.

Both Systems have great exclusives but the PS4 has more. People also forget that North America was Sony's until the PS3 stumble. I have been a Sony guy for awhile and while I have supported MS in the bast (XBOX, 360) the main reason I see absolutely no reason to get one is games, anything I want I can get on the PC! Why on earth would I invest $400 when I don't have to?
