Because here in America, we often like to compare dick sizes. Someone having to admit that the console that they bought is simply less powerful than a console they could have gotten for the same price is something that we can't imagine saying. Even if Xbox does have the best FPSs, people don't want to play it on an inferior console.

P.S.: Currently, I only own a Wii U. I WILL own an Xbox One by the end of the year and I will NEVER own a PS4. But the PS4 is more powerful and that is why it sells so well here. If the Xbox One was proven to be more powerful, there is no way that it wouldn't be selling better than the PS4 in the U.S..

The answer is so blindingly simple that to ask the question brings into doubt the intellectual capacity of the person asking: it's former PS1 and PS2 gamers returning to their natural console preference. Nothing more nothing less.

Microsoft shot themselves in the foot at E3 2013, and they still haven't recovered. If they hadn't been so stupid with their anti-consumer policies (mandatory Kinect, always online, DRM, etc.), Xbox One would be DOMINATING the US right now (and perhaps the UK).

Well, there are more multiplats than exclusives and they tend to enjoy better fedelity on the PS4.  The PS4 has a better lineup than you claim and actually still has more games.  Even if you ignore LBP and Bloodbourne as you have done, There are still tons of quality exclusives over the horizon.  You are cherrypicking a few exclusives and saying this is all that matters but in reality, multiplats are always king.  They are also worth playing and they generate the most sales.   If it was about exclusives, the Wii U would be wiping the floor with both.

ratchetnclank, lbp3(also on ps3,but its only one one of the next gen consoles,and thats ps4 where it'l look and play better and probably bundled),bloodborne, the order,and tomorrows children all coming out soon/early next year. also the new cod will probably play/look better on ps4,and this destiny thing is still kinda going(and doesnt destiny have exclusive content for ps4 only?)......

theres a ton of history that shows the most powerful doesnt always sell the best

I had a buddy that went ps4 about 3 months ago. He drank the kool-aid like everyone else. But something happened on the way to gaming happiness. He traded his ps4 for the Xbox One and has been much happier. Hell, I traded my ps4 for an Xbox One back in August and have not looked back. I also have the white Xbox One being delivered on Tuesday. More hypnotized gamers will eventually wake up soon.

A lot others guys are trading Xbone for PS4 too and are more happy with PS4 than Xbone... that happens for all consoles... PS3, 360, Wii, etc... some guys trade consoles to buy others.

That is less than 1% of the console owers and didn't change nothing.

PS. It won't surprise me if in the future your friend trade the Xbone for a PS4
