This game was not just meh, it was abysmal and back then it was the "next big thing" for many people. No one I have found defends Diakatana after playing it.

If there ever had to be a game that everyone has heard of.
Gets talked about and inexplicably advertised because of it.
Keep spinning it and pushing it. I think in my own opinion is that it's Halo to your O.P.. being the most over hyped ever.

Destiny is actually pretty good for being its weakest link in its chain is last gen consoles. Because of what it's working with in considerering, it's impressive and quite good.

Titanfall also had an alpha and beta. Whats your point? People knew exactly what Titanfall was at its core. A multiplayer game. And it scored well for what it was.
