They should've done this from the start like Final Fantasy who reinvents itself with every iteration.

But I wouldn't say it's too late. LoZ had its fair share of drastic changes in its world and gameplay. Though probably not enough to warrant a cut like a cyberpunk world.

Eh, I'm fine with the consistency of the universe. I like the occasional weird out-of-place technology (high school teachers taught me to call these things anachronisms but no one uses that word so I rarely do) from robots and beamos down to the phonograph.

After the big hooplah people made about a train, I'm not sure the Zelda fanbase could handle cyberpunk. :/

A train isn't nearly as cool as cyberpunk, steampunk, futurezelda, etc.  I never played Spirit Tracks...but it definitely didn't pique my interest in concept.

Er, the trains are steampunk. The whole Wind Waker timeline pretty much went full steampunk.

Anyway, maybe you don't remember the massive backlash against the game when it was first revealed, but Zelda fans were pretty pissed that the series was straying away from its medieval, dark ages roots. They got over it because they're Zelda fans and that's what they do, but I shudder to think how they would respond to a fully cyberpunk Zelda.

Oh no it would feel so tacked and tacky though the motorcycle itself is really cool

Hmm, I wonder if they're tossing around ideas for a futuristic sci-fi-esque setting in a Zelda game. That could be really cool and definitely a big change for the series. They could re-imagine a lot of series lore and conventions. Maybe Zelda Wii U will act like the Ocarina of Time to a Majora's Mask type of unusual/experimental successor.

I am somewhat against idea a futuristic Zelda. After all, the series is based on a legend the time has long passed...

Besides, is that not what the Metroid series is for?

If they're adding a bike, why not a gun?

Shadow says no.

I, Chris Redfield, say yes!

Steampunk Zelda. Make it happen.
