That is bullshit if true.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
I wouldn't be surprised if Sony and MS did considering how mid ranged the specs are (Heck, may as well be entry level by the end of this year)
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

This politics seems to be primarily coming from MS and even Machinima was warning people of politics to gimp PS4 versions of games by MS because they were behind. |
Sure, by "consoles makers" I am assuming he is referring to Microsoft and maybe Nintendo. I mean, I am sure Nintendo would hate to have vastly superior versions of Ubisoft Wii U titles on PC. Titles like Watch Dogs and um.. Ass Creed 5? No? The Division? No again? Rainbow Six? Shit. The Crew? Really? What about Trials Fusion? Fuck. What about that last gen Ass Creed game, Rogue? omg. FAR CRY 4! Fuck!
Ok, Nintendo just really doesn't want a vastly superior version of that Watch Dogs game on PC, even though it's already out on PC in vastly superior form, and people have pretty much forgotten about the game already, and it's not even out on Wii U yet.
Yeah, that's the other manufacturer they are referring to. Or maybe Sega? DREAMCAST 2 CONFIRMED?//?

Edit: Yes, he has a picture from Ubisoft in a class, but he could still have made up that story, and it comes from a heavily biased PC subreddit, so yeah... I find it pathetic if it is true, but I don't see it as a problem for Personal Computers gamers when there are mods. |
I see a problem with it because I don't like MS or Sony having this kind of influence over gaming. They are purposely holding gaming back and I don't like that. Not only that but what else are they influencing in the gaming industry? This is honestly probably my last year as a console gamer. I just don't like all the things I've learned about the industry and I would rather stop supporting it.
I worked to ubisoft in the past, and I can say they will say anything to try hiding is mediocrity and poor take on design( the thing we heard the most from produced was: It won't stop tehm from buying our game.
SO I will say it that uber bullS , they are just trying to find a other scapegoat,
it's to stop the debate, its microsoft fault they force use to cap at 30.
come on.
Look at this. Microsoft tell them to cap it Ubisoft say no and all AC go Ps4 - pc exclusive.
and microsoft will still say cap it to 30. buuuuuuuushS88888 microsoft is not in a place to say no to third party franchise.

Plot thickens.
Is it true that Sony is actually behind all of this? Stay tuned!
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

Maybe he didn't want to single out someone? For instance my boss took me and my group out for lunch and said someones been watching movies in the bathroom. I quickly said it was me and that I was listening to podcast because I didn't want to hear all the other dudes blowing you know what in the restroom. Some guys sound like they're dying in their and it's hard to focus on what I'm doing. He immediately said "Yea I knew it was you but I just didn't want to single you out". This is a boss who's cool enough to tell me about his XTC trips and going to strip clubs during out of town trips to see all the local talent (actually almost lost his job when he got caught doing this recently).

"he implied that MS is making them lock the framerate on PC too".
Well I think he was trying to keep the name anonymous but blurted it out later on. Last gen Sony didn't cause PC versions of games to be dumbed down. and 360 multiplats didnt get dumbed down on account of Sony.
Haven't you noticed that half the reason why this pairty issue is such a big deal is because MS has been fighting it themselves? Even after the Diablo incident where MS had to step in and help, they know its hurting their PR.
When a second hand source uses the word "implied" regarding the true source, I immediately take it as gospel.
Besides, this doesn't really make any sense. How do they "pressure" someone like Ubisoft? Are they going to refuse to sell their games? While everyone else has games with 60fps options on PC?
It doesn't even matter. If Ubisoft does any of this, it's on their head. There is no deferring the blame due to "pressure".
Honestly, this really sounds like some developers from Ubisoft got put on the spot and decided to pass the buck, thinking that a talk at a college would never make it to the internet. It reminds me of how grownups will make something up when they get a question from kids they don't want to answer--"well, see, a stork delivers babies, now shut up and stop asking questions."

Funny that you would ignore the part I bolded and underlined that implicated both specifically, and are instead harping on the one that indrectly implicates Microsoft, even if only through implication. Meaning whoever was answering that question didn't actually say MS.
As for the bold, if he "blurted" Microsoft's name out, then it wouldn't say he "implied MS". It would say he literally said Microsoft.
Anyway I don't particularly think this is true, but it is interesting to hear right from a developer that Sony and Microsoft are trying to restrict PC games from being too much better than consoles.
