I hope so because this year has been a snoozefest. I'm still on 360, and I have no regrets. Hopefully by 2015 the X1 dashboard and party chat are resolved.

Not sure what a delay to Driveclub has to do with what I said.

Sony's first party has done fine so far given that aside from Knack, everything released has been from their second and third tier devs.  MS internal studios have had the worst output so far in terms of both quantity and quality.  They have only released Forza 5 (79) and Kinect Sports Rivals (60).  Not good for almost a full year of a new console, especially considering how little exclusive support MS gave 360 in it's last two years.

But if you think their output has been good and are enjoying their games, that is fine.

There's nothing wrong with outsourcing IPs you own like fh2. Microsoft have secured some better exclusives than Sony this gen so far. Titanfall we know won't appear on ps4 ever. only titanfall 2 can. the only game at retail for ps4 reviewing well is tlour. And that got lucky as reviews just used last years scores. hence the identical meta to last year.

I know a few people who are getting pissed off with their ps4s after buying driveclub.

its cool if people are enjoying their ps4s. But I think its clear to me at retail its the weakest console at the moment.

Infamous and MLB both reviewed well, they have metas in the 80s.  Not really sure how The Last of Us got lucky in it's reviews scores.

You can see from the OP that this big news relates to MS internal studios, not games they have secured as exclusive from third parties, so games like Titanfall and FH2 are not relevant to the output of MS owned studios.

And your anecdotal evidence means nothing

Last time I went into something hard, I ended up with twins.

That must hve been a "big push" for the mother.

Ahem OT: Good 2nd half, but weak 1st half of 2015. PS4 is going to have over 10 Million lead before this "hard going" comes.

My 8th gen collection

If you want to "go in hard", go in hard from January to December, not only in Holiday season.

I don't see any need to read and comment on the Microsoft forum, if they don't have any interest in the Xbox.

Anyway, can't wait to hear about the other games announcements.

And positive Xbox news turned into negative Xbox news on VGC.

The PS4 and Xbox One got maybe 2 or 3 exclusives in their first 10th months this year and they did alright. 2015 looks really good for Xbox One already. Halo 5, Fable Legends, Quantum Break, Tomb Raider, maybe Forza 6 is very appealing and there might be even more.

2016 will be interesting as well with Phantom Dust and probably Gears of War 4 and probably Scalebound.

I don't think it got turned into neagtive news at all. I think most people were just confused about Q1/Q2 for MS because the article talked about QB and other games for Q3/Q4. Asking what they has in store for Q1/Q2 with so much focus on Q3/Q4 is not negative at all IMO. You just have to weed out those that are doing something "other" than asking and taking shots.

For me personally QB is the game I am most excited for on XB1 for next year! And I wm with you on 2016 hopefully getting Gears 4!

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

Going in hard= Decent price drop for the holiday season to try and make themselves more affordable to people who are stuck between Xbox One and the PS4. I'm calling a bundle $350 for the holiday season since they did another price cut in the UK. I'm calling it right now. MS has no other games to launch unless its already planned. MS wont have any unannounced games ready unless they paid for the exclusivity. That is going to be the big hooplah Pachter was talking about..Watch.

I think forza 6 will be 2016 Xmas. After horizon 2 has weather I think turn 10 will make new engine and take an extra year to get more tracks in with weather and new visuals. Xbox already had a massive lead in racing games.

it will be forza 6 vs Gt7 in reviews Xmas 2016. Just watch.

Looking at what the X1 has to offer next year, I'm hardly convinced that Microsoft is "going in hard". Yes, there is likely more games in store and MS just haven't revealed them yet. However, Sony has already done that since Gamescom and announced even more games in Pre-TGS.

There are two major problems with the X1's 2015 exclusive lineup, so far: lack of diversity and consolidation of release dates to holiday season. Phil Spencer is right that you have to bring your A game into holiday season, but you also have to bring it during the first 8 months. It is because of this that the PS4 widened the sales gap this year. Halo 5 is undeniably huge and will sell more than Uncharted 4. However, even a huge game like Halo 5 cannot cancel out the deficit from January to August. It is important to sell consistently well all year around.

The lack of diversity is also concerning. Fable Legends, Scalebound, Phantum Dust, Halo 5, and Quantum Break, they all fall under the shooter and action categories. Great for gamers whose favorite genres are action and shooters, but bad for those who have other tastes. While the western market is primarily fans of these two genres, there are western gamers who also like platformers, western and Japanese RPGs, hack n' slash, survival/horror, and sandbox. Looking at the PS4's 2015 lineup, you see Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, Wild, The Order: 1886, Rime, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, The Tomorrow Children, Until Dawn, Disgaea 5, Dragon Quest Heroes, Ys, God Eater 2, Persona 5, MLB 15: The Show, and Let it Die. Shadow of the Beast, N++, and Deep Down are also in the mix though they don't have general release dates yet. And nevermind the several timed exclusives the PS4 will be getting, too, like The Witness, Hellblade, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Abzu, and No Man's Sky, and the obligatory remasters like the Uncharted Trilogy Remastered Edition and Beyond: Two Souls Director's Cut. Will all these games sell like gangbusters? No, but the important takeaway here is that they appeal to a very wide demographic as opposed to a narrow one.
