lol anyone ever realise that regardless of their appearance, motivations, actions, behavior or whatever, that male characters in video games are never sexist?

why is that?

why is it that no matter how banal, no matter how stereotypically masculine there is never an outrage about a male character and i'm sure there will never be

Well that is obviously because men are better than women. :)
Yeah, this whole debate is stupid on many levels. Why can't we all just enjoy some good games together? :/

since women are equal to men i always in every situation look over to see how men are being treated and i find that quite often men do not bear the same entitlement when it comes to a lot of issues

i mean i'm a pretty fit guy but i will probably never look like batman for example do you see me whining and crying that i will never look like these buff dudes

no i take the situation into my own hands and go and hit the weights even knowing in the back of my head that i may never reach that peak but still regardless i at least put effort in trying improve myself

And this is the problem with gamers. The attitude you have is dire. If she was empowered, then why is she half naked? When did a guy dress like that in a game? Oh right - never.

why would being naked or partially clothed take away power from a woman?

does hiding her body give a woman power somehow?

is that why muslim women wear burkas?

beyond that does that mean that the human body is disgusting and that's why we try to hide it?

How many buisness women are half naked? Now what about strippers?

She doesn't need to hide her body, but dress like a pornstar? That is absurd and even worse that you try to defend it.

so therefore your point is that yes indeed the hiding of women's bodies empowers them

fair enough that's all i was asking

as i mentioned i suppose this is why muslim women wear burkas

ironically though this has been used in part to claim that muslims abuse women when in actuality according to your reasoning its not abuse its empowerment

also the people that claim to be pushing for the emancipation of women disagree strongly with you

its just funny to me how contradictory views on this get

for feminist half naked women are demeaning then they aren't then they are again

its just interesting to me to see how this developes

You just have no clue about what Bayonetta is. Go get a WiiU if you don't have one yet and play the game when its out then you might understand.

You don't need to understand anything. It is some ridiculous character designed to get young teenage lads all excited, nothing more. It is perverted, it is degrading, and it is quite pathetic. But hey, if you think there is a reason besides that and why almost every Japanese game has women with impossible figures then by all means, go ahead and try to justify it as that will be amusing to see.

Have you played Bayonetta?

I wonder how the game plays.

So things are black and white for you, you have no middle ground. Sorry, but that isn't life - it just isn't that simple. There is dressing inappropriately by revealing too much, and hiding away. What happened to the normal middle ground?

Those femenists are in denial of basic human biology. The female breast is a sexual organ (among other thigns). It does arouse women, and it will turn a guy on (most animals breasts only develop in mating periods/seasons). A guys breast is not....so there is a difference.

The issue is you have a lot of ill-informed people and people such as yourself trying to simplfy complex social concepts into binary.

"What happened to the normal middle ground?"

normal middle ground?

what is wrong with the form of dress that muslim women choose? what is wrong with burkas?

you implied that the hiding away of a woman's body empowers her and i'm just saying that maybe that is where the type of dress used by muslim women originated from

"The female breast is a sexual organ (among other thigns). It does arouse women, and it will turn a guy on (most animals breasts only develop in mating periods/seasons). A guys breast is not....so there is a difference."

well i'm neither here now there on that to me it depends on who you're talking to

some people find breasts arousing while others don't

"The issue is you have a lot of ill-informed people and people such as yourself trying to simplfy complex social concepts into binary."

lol no my comment on burkas was just a response to the implication that a woman's value rises when she hides her body away

What would be sexist is if they portray Bayonetta is a weak female character that heavily depends on a man to decide for her and take responsibility for her. To think Bayonetta is completely the opposite of that, but these "feminist" choose to ignore that and instead find fault on her appearance. Aren't you, the "feminists", being the real sexist here? You're only seeing Bayonetta as this figure in a clothing you do not approved of. You're only saying that a woman can only be good and respectable depending on how she looks. You choose to ignore the bigger picture but rather instead focused on a tiny detail that doesn't really speak or make up Bayonetta's whole character. You're basically just judging the character from what you see which makes you very shallow and superficial.
Male gaze has been done so many times and I agree that it can be distasteful. But if that's the only thing you nitpick about a character with so much more to offer than her image, I pity on you.
And to actually say that a woman comfortable of her body (dressing like a pornstar as one of you pointed out in here) is someone lesser than a woman in suit, is very ignorant and again pitiful on your part.
