why not both? a 2d and a 3d game. the 2d game could be outscourced to an indy studio, they have a low cost structure.

3D 3rd person. 1st person games are slow and limiting. That being said, You should be able to aim to either shoot flying monsters or interact (change/destroy/grapple) with the environment.

Please not first person... even if the prime series was good I prefer playing 3rd person games like OoT,SMG etc etc

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing (mostly)
