Yeah, thread was a shame. Talking about D4 coming to PC, then all of a sudden Sunset Overdrive, "real exclusives", and twitter accounts are brought up. @_@

You shouldn't a banned Jay for dropping truthbombs. If a user is being an obvious troll then you shouldn't get moderated for calling them out on it. You all need to let this community grow it's teeth back.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Kapi knows. I'll be ensuring that you will be getting a raise this month.
But yes, we have a report button on these forums for a reason, and moreover we have an active moderation team with well-defined and recently updated forum rules for a reason. Such comments don't promote good discussion and if one thing is allowed like this then where does it stop?
The mantra has always been to report posts, and to leave the mod team to handle the issue as opposed to dragging yourself down to their level and risking moderation yourself. This is something that works (mostly), and it leaves us with what is for the most part a great community. I don't see any reason why that should be changed anytime soon.
So, I see that you finally banned the zero alt. I know I reported him as a zero alt some time ago, did that factor in?

You and some others did yeah and it did remind me that I've been putting off discussing what to do about him.

Yes. People who get banned aren't going to stop trolling when they back. They need to be slammed down in the forums. When I report a troll and nothing happens what else am I supposed to do? I must bring justice down upon them.
And stop sucking up to the mods kapi. They don't need a defense force. You should be siding with the people, not them.

This is a counter-productive way of thinking, Fusioncode. We have rules and moderators on this forum to avoid the kind of vigilante justice you're suggesting.
Think about it. If you're allowed to "slam" a member for being a troll, why can't he or she slam you for flaming? And why can't a third party come in and accuse you both of dragging the thread off topic? Anyone trying to carry on a civil debate would be drowned out by accusations, recriminations, and insults.
It would be, in short, like all the other unwatched, unchecked online forums full of poisionous slurs and toxic language. If you want the power to "bring justice down" on what you think are trolls, head over to the YouTube comments section and see what absolute freedom of expression looks like. It's pretty damn ugly.
One last thing: this dichotomy of the mods vs. "the people," is, to be perfectly frank, bullshit. The mods are members of this community. We post threads. We post news. We make friends. We care about its members and its reputation. We, like you, are VGChartz.

Because calling a troll, a troll is not flaming. It's stating a fact and deconstructing their "argument". -_-

I disagree, that's an opinion and it's an insulting to call people people trolls. It's a strictly subjective term and that's why the mods have to form a consensus to moderate people for certain things.
