Heh, I'm 31 and myself and my wife have completed the 3 games on 360 and own them all on the 3ds too, tis a great co-op dungeon crawl, should mention we also have about 1k worth of the figures... which isn't even all of them. I really don't think kids on their own have that amount of disposable income and they wouldn't be able to wrangle that sort of cash out of parents unless the parents knew they were more than just €20 figures with no articulation.

How long will it take you and your wife to buy all 49 Amiibo's? (12 at launch.) =D

When Nintendo showed those off... it hit me right in the wallet. Just got the 3DS version of smash there tho, not sure how they're going to make them an essential purchase without deterring people from buying their games. (considering skylanders without figures is completely unplayable)

I hope they find a nice balance between making them useful and not fleecing people, there is nothing quite like having your in game character sat on a shelf after the game is over, really makes a difference to a collection.

I think that would be a bad business decision for Activision. Sure the games sell best on Nintendo systems, but a huge amount of Skylanders profit comes from the toys. By removing the games from Microsoft and Sony platforms, Activision would curtail the number of consumers buying those figures.

If Activision was forced to choose, Nintendo is the obvious choice, but it makes more business sense to keep the series multiplatform, at least for now.

I know they wont do that but its possible if they dont make profits anymore on other systems.

Skylanders is on everything tho because the Toys are cross platform, the same toys which came boxed with Spyros adventure from say the X360 work on the new version of the game on the PS3... or the 3ds or even the mobile game battlegrounds all use the same toys. That's exactly why they turn so much money on the series.

All I know is that Skylanders Wii U hardware bundle was a giant flop.

My Best Buy still had mountains of them left over by spring of this year and they were discounted down to $199-$220 trying to get rid of them.

Because you need to keep your skylander figure on the NFC stand all the time... would you want to be balancing the controller with 2 skylanders + a power up item all the time? also both 1+2 players skylanders are dealt with on the 1 NFC stand, wouldn't be such a great move having player 2 needing to reach over to player 1's controller all the time if they wanted to swap out their figure.
