FATALITY sa

call of duty is pretty solid. what im saying is some of 30fps games look different than the others. for example shadow of mordor and ifamous first light are more fluid than tlous locked at 30 fps.

Please don't tell me you can't tell the difference between TLOU with its 60 fps and 30 fps...

im comparing 30fps  vs 30fps not 60fps tlous

Still doesnt change the fact my old HD6870 can match the PS4 so far something that couldnt be said about a 4 year old card last gen .

Sorry but you HD 6870 is too weak compared with PS4's GPU.

The HD 7850 (weaker than PS4's GPU) is in most cases 30% better than HD 6870 in performance terms.

PS. I didn't even entered in the point of the drivers, SDK, optimizations, light SO, way less overhead that only exists on console because it is a fixed plataform that makes the GPU performance be way better than PC with the same specs.

Yup console always get benefit from less over head, OS layer of programing to metal, optimization because of standarize spec. even some famous games developer already mentioned in some articel that PS4 are equal to medium to high modern GPU on 2013-2014 written spec for PC, but high end to entusiast level of graphic on the performence (optimization, etc)

All I know is this game is fun as shit, any no matter what platform, you should play it lol. If nothing else, 60FPS is pretty sweet on PC! ^_^b

Uh, a 6850 1GB will run SoM like this smoothly :

1080p
Medium Textures
Medium Shadows

No problem. If it's a 2GB model you could even set textures to high without slowing down. Shadows and AA are the killers.

Anyway, here's a 6850 + a potato CPU running it playably :

Paired with a less horrible CPU it would be fine, particularly with a light GPU OC.

Yep in 720p.  Yay last gen.

Keep in mind, I only have the slightly faster 560Ti in my machine, so I'm not hating on PC here.  But, you can't expect a modified APU that's been out for less than a year to have the same kind of API refinement as a GPU that's been out for 4 years.

Ehh, with Maxwell's release, and the Pirate Islands and the new memory standard (HBM) coming early 2015, the standard prices of old GDDR memory is going to plummet. AMD will already have to cut prices to keep their old gen in the race against the Maxwell line when the 960 launches (which will be cheaper than the 970 by a good margin). GPUs that far outstrip the PS4/X1 will be easily affordable on a budget within a few months. In fact the HBM reveals are really going to ramp up the developments on the GPU end, and we're going to see prices of old cards drop off fast.

HBM is going to really change the game on the APUs side of the market too, leading to even better budget builds with built in graphical capabilities at budget prices.

Everything else can already be had at a decent price without much trouble by finding deals or shopping circa Black Friday. You can already build to or beyond the specs of the consoles on a budget of 400-500$ (give yourself an extra 50$ for not having to pay for PSN+ or XBL), and in a years time it will be even easier to completely blowpast the current consoles with a small budget. Once the basic architecture of a PC is built for a person, they can and will always be ahead of the console curve if Sony/MS stick to x86 architecture on both price and performance because the majority of the guts will never need changing outside of some unforseen failure, like your RAM, PSU, Mobo/CPU, etc....

Eh?  I wasn't commenting on any of that (Given there are cards already out that butcher the consoles, it's...pretty logical to assume more will come, and prices will fall hehe).  Simply the silliness of expecting a brand new API to be as refined as that of a 4 year old card (that's wasn't a slouch either).  And I also pointed out in an earlier response that there are cards that can easily destroy the PS4/XB1...hell, combined.  Titan Z and R295X2 have nearly 3x and 4x the performance of both consoles together, respectively.  I was actually curious though, the cards that murder other tech are easy to point out, but what cards/PC setups are 'slightly' better...like, where's the break even point.

But you see your the one who for a start asked for a break even point, and then when i pointed out that my old 6870 could still match the newer gen consoles (That should give you a very good break even point like you where asking for!) you started stating that thats pretty obvious since devs have had 4 years to "Refine" for the 6870 O_o but yet i was only giving you what you asked. Now all you need to do is see what newer low end cards match the 6870 and bam you have your break even point .

Your old ass 6870 doesn't hold a candle to the PS4 lol.  The PS4 is basically an HD 7870 (Some things are a little worse, some things are a little better), and the 7870 is double your card.  I own a 6870 btw.

Clearly you dont or else you must have it mixed with some pretty bad hardware if you think it doesnt hold a candle to the PS4. And if you think im lying like clearly you are all you have to do is look at my steam profile and look at some of my old pics and try tell me again it doesnt hold a candle to it. Btw heres my profile http://steamcommunity.com/id/mcdgray129

And some pics

Now care to tell me again how the PS4 is Destorying my 6870??

LMAO!  A $30 hd 6450 can render those screenshots!  But at what framerate?  Lets see you run the Shadow of Mordor in 1080p with above low textures...Oh wait you can't!

Edit: You're Sleeping Dogs pic kinda looks like garbage compared to the settings I am used to. (only one I bothered to look at)

All them games run Between 30-60FPS and i knew you where going to say something like this before i posted them.

Like i said my PC plays all them no problem id take pics with fraps running on some of them but you would only prop say i photoshopped them or something.

And Sleeping Dogs is pretty much running with Max settings so i dont know how yours looks much better unless your running it in a res higher then 1080P and downsampling or something.

But ether way your wrong with what you said as so far the PS4 is not destorying my 6870 and guess what ill be getting Shadow of morder and ill play it no problem looking better then the PS4 on my R9-290 and then for the sake of trying it ill play it on my old PC with my HD6870 and i bet it will still play just as good as the PS4 version maybe even a bit better just like every other multiplat game i have played.

So please dont be coming in here trying to put something down the back of my neck when i know what im saying can be backed up with facts unlike what you have been saying but your more then welcome to take pics of your 6870 with your name next to it to prove you have one if you want.

Yes your R9 290 will play SoM better.  GOD I HOPE SO!  It's only more than twice as powerful lol!   I am not trying to put you down, the PS4 is just slightly less than twice as powerful as your system.  Deal with it - Oh wait you have because you are upgrading.

Sorry a pet peave of mine is PC people with average rigs that lie to themselves about how weak the PS4 is so they can justify not getting one.  If you don't want one that's fine, but let's not pretend it is because yours is stronger.  It's because you don't want to spend the money  (Which is a valid reason).

People didnt mind playing in Sub HD lastgen and 900P is a huge step up from that. And if its only about res do you think Battlefield 2 would look better then say Battlefield 4 if one was in 720P and the other in 1080P??

Soo, 900p is a huge step up but 1080p is not?

Of course it is not only about the res, it is just that you need to match the resolution of your screen first, then you care about the eye candy. If you care about your eyes anyway.

Of course not.  You see, going from 720p to 900p is a MASSIVE 180 extra lines of resolution.  While going from 900p to 1080p is a mere 180 extra lines of resolution.  So, see, big difference.

Are you being sarcastic? Well I will bite. It actually is less of a difference because of the law of depreciating returns. The difference between 480 and 720 is 240p but it is bigger of a difference than 720 and 1080 which is 360p

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

This is what I'm running on and at BTW:

I think the game was running in 1080p (at the end of video he shows settings,) kinda like my twitch recording where I'm recording in 720p but at 60FPS cause I don't feel like shelling out the money to be able to do decent quality 1080p 60FPS streaming.

The last time i checkt DF it said he X1 version of Fifa 15 has no motion blur. In reality this was just a simple bug which has been already patched. DF never updated their article thought nor brought back a "correction" of their article.
Anyway, they are still the most credible pixel counters right now so everything is fine.
