There are more mature people playing Nintendo games then any other developers games.

Is there one thing I know is that the 18-25 range people that play these so called mature games are everything but mature.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Maybe once, to test the waters. But nothing that can't be made mature... aka Mario, LoZ, Star Fox, etc. I would argue that they have been mature for a long time with Metroid.

If it results in stuff like this, then I wouldn't mind! :3

I am buying FF5 now... Imported or not... .

EDIT: Something like this wouldn't look bad in a FE Game either... or maybe even (dare I say it?) a Zelda game...

I see all the Zelda fans with fire and pitch forks running towards me from a distance, I'm getting out of here while I still have a chance...

I agree with the guy that says that Pokemon should be more teen. Other than Metroid however, I really have no urge to see a more "mature" set of Nintendo's classics. I prefer the art style revealed for Zelda Wii U to the one shown in the Wii U reveal demo, for example. What made me Nintendo my favorite game company is the innovative, polished gameplay and the masterpieces they spawn ever so often, not bloated by things I don't really care about (like excessive focus on online at the expense of couch multiplayer).
I would love certain games to be a little less kiddy, but it doesn't mean I want them to be "mature" either. Here's an example: Pikmin. I didn't play the first 2 but I got Pikmin 3 during that Mario Kart 8 promo earlier this year. I've only played to Day 11 (the in-game days), but I'm already starting to see why the game is critically acclaimed. It has unique gameplay very different from anything I've played before, but I wish my characters didn't look and sound so darn ridiculous! I don't need realistic characters that would look out of place in the imaginative worlds Nintendo creates (worlds were chickens can be used as parachutes), but Pikmin's characters are awful to me.

I'm sorry, but this kind of thing is silly as hell every time it comes up.

You want Nintendo to do some "mature" franchises, fine, look to stuff like Xenoblade, NEW IPs.

But people actually calling for so-called "mature" versions of...what....Mario, Kirby, DK, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, etc. etc.? Please.

And even for games like Metroid or Zelda.....what do you mean by "mature"? Metroid is already "dark" and Samus already blasts the living shit out of enemies. What is there to be more "mature" about? Not enough blood and gore? Or Zelda for that matter......how would it being more "mature" help it? It's a fantasy game. Are people saying they want it to clone Skyrim or Dark Souls? Personally, I don't really think I'd be too interested in a SUPER "dark" and "realistic" take on Zelda like that.

I'd be ALL FOR a new Eternal Darkness game, or even an HD remake, with improvements and added content. But that's somewhat up to the artists formerly known as Silicon Knights ever getting their shit together. I'm also ALL for, say, Retro, doing a new IP of their own, even a "more realistic" one, so long as it's good, and up to their usual standards.

But if by "more mature", people are insinuating that Nintendo needs to make their popular franchises conform more to the cliches and tropes of modern western developed games? No thanks. I like Nintendo games because they're Nintendo STYLE games. They're "old school" and there's nothing quite like them, made by anyone else. If I wanted to play games more like the "AAA" blockbuster third party titles of the west....I'd just go play those instead.

I know CiNG died ages ago, but I'd like to think that their staff are still available and willing to work on continuations of the Another Code / Kyle Hyde series. Those were what I would consider to be "mature games" (what a detestable phrase).

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Funny thing is majority of the people voting want to see it happen at least once. I think they should just try it out for fun, sort of to test out the Water's (Metroid would be a great series to experiment on). I'd be kind of fun to see Samus tease players like Aida Wong does with Leon in RE4 too...

That breaks her personality. We don't need another MOM incident lol.

Let's narrow it down, shall we?

Killer7: 150k copies sold.

Eternal Darkness: 440k copies sold.

Geist: 150k copies sold.

ZombiU: 710K copies sold (not bad but this got a boost since it was a release title plus bundled in a console pack) so those numbers are somewhat misleading.

Red Steel: 660k copies (not bad again, but very diappointing because this was also a release title, and considering everyone and their mother literally were buying Wii's at the time, the fact this didn't break a Mill is mind boggling).

Red Steel 2: 600k copies (alright but nothing too special either).

Mad World: 740k copies ( not bad, I read on Wiki this sold a lot less, but I guess they didn't know what they were talking about. Still, this is not a number that jumps as anything special, especially since the Wii was in like 60mill + household's at the time.

No more Heroes: 540k copies (again a"meh")

No More Heroes 2: 380k (below a "meh")

Conker's Bad Fur Day: 770k (Not bad, considering it came out on the End of the N64's console cycle, only number that surprised me).

So you basically only proved Conker did great. Okay, maybe poorly is a bad choice of words, but all those sales are still disappointing, and they definitely played better than what they sold for.

Everything is relative my friend...Most of these games aren't your typical big budget gritty games and a lot of them are really niche. Also, factor in the fact that development for Wii games was much cheaper than HD development...

*I will be using my numbers in highest "individual" SKU form instead of "combined"

Look at Madworld, from Platinum Games, sold more than Vanquish (released in 2009 and 2010 respectively) and it sold way more than Anarchy Reigns (which even has Jack as a playable character).
Vanquish (PS3): 0.58mil
Anarchy Reigns (PS3): 0.18mil

No More Heroes, from Suda 51 sold similar to Lolipop Chainsaw, much better than Shadows of the Damned, and much better than Killer is Dead...two of which are in a similar style to NMH.
Lollipop Chainsaw (PS3): 0.58mil
Shadows of the Damned (PS3): 0.24mil
Killer is Dead (PS3): 0.18mil

Eternal Darkness was both a horror game and a new IP (and it was on the tiny install base of the GC), but compare it to some other (non SH, non RE) horror games on the PS2:
Rule of Rose: 0.02mil
Haunting Ground: 0.07mil
Clock Tower 3: 0.33mil
Siren: 0.18
Not so bad in context eh? I guess ZombiU could fall into this category too (although, obviously not PS2 era)

Red Steel is harder to compare as there really isn't anything like it, however, according to Ubi, RS2 did perform in line with expectations and 42% of Ubis sales during its release quarted came from the Wii (http://www.vgchartz.com/article/80063/ubisoft-loses-555m-in-the-march-2010-fiscal-year/). Also, the fact that Red Steel 1 was garbage didn't help sales...

The devil is in the details ;)

EDIT: Edited in more numbers
