Nintendo is a Japanese video game developer, and I think we all know what happens when the Japanese tries to cater to a "mature" audience: Excessive amounts of blood, random perv comments dropped in the dialogues, massive tits and cleavages, cliché stories that touches mature themes and topics but ultimately sound like they were written by teenagers, etc. This is especially apparent with games that feature cartoony characters, but it's not like Resident Evil is a lot better.

Besides, if you're asking for a mature title from Nintendo you might as well go to a sushi place and order a pizza.

I get the sense that when video game fans use the word "mature" they mean "intended for adults," which misses the point. What I want from a game is gameplay that's mature, i.e., fully developed, not adult content unrelated to how a game plays. And on that front, Nintendo has the most "mature" games of any developer in the industry.

You offend me my friend... Do I look like a character from a kiddie game?

Don't force me to falcon punch you.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

I have my fingers crossed they'll someday do with Wario what they did with Conker.

Also want Wario and Waluigi as playable characters in Devil's Third

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

What I don't get is why Nintendo won't make some kind of Minecraft clone. After all they had that cubic brick stuff since 80-s.

It's literally one single game that destroyed ton of Nintendo revenue and yet Shiggy admits he didn't even play it.

Exactly! Like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta!

No I really don't want that.

If Nintendo could broaden their IP portfolio to this ...

1.) Family-friendly/sugary sweet:

Yoshi, Animal Crossing, Kirby, Pokemon, Super Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Sports (various), Wario, Wii Sports/Fit/Party, Star Fox

2.) Mid-tier (not too violent, not too sweet)

Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Fire Emblem

3.) Hardcore

Xenoblade, Fatal Frame, Bayonetta

2 and 3 still have a ways to go. If you could add James Bond IP and/or maybe a licensing deal with Marvel for Avengers + Guardians games, I think you'd finally have the right mix.

Pretty much this.  They should add a couple IP's to the bottom row.  I'd love to see them pick up Gunfire games and the Hunt IP from Crytek.  Another RPG series from Mistwalker.  And a true FPS would round out the mature group nicely.  Zelda should have mature but still kid friendly tone, like the LOTR movies.  Metroid can be grittier still, with scary content and monsters and a sexy heroine, but I would avoid excessive violence or sexuality.  Mario, etc, should remain kid-friendly for the good of everyone.

As long as they continue putting out good games, I'm fine with that.

If they go ahead and act like the rest of the big third-party publishing industry, then they can kiss my sweet cash goodbye.
