What would be so bad about multiple games? If this game really is as good as people want to believe why is it bad to get more of it?

I honestly feel Final Fantasy is at its best when each fantasy is final. Not a single prequel or sequel has been up to the standard set by its predeccessor in my opinion. It could genuinely work, but I'd much rather teams move on and we only recieve the occasional fan service game like Dissidia.

If you asked for a sequel to my most favourite entry in the series or an entirely entry ala FF16. I would always go with the new entry.

Indeed. I don't mind them using the resources but what made FF different to a lot of game series is the idea that that each entry was it's own story and world. Based on sales alone (like we mentioned before), producing new series entries instead of sequels and prequels seems more prolific.

On Topic, 40 sounds good, 13 was too linear for too long with little exploration. FF12 had lots of exploration from the start.

Hmm, pie.

40 hours only from a dev word ? so it's 25 hours for most people here.

Too short for a jrpg, but maybe we will get a lot of endgame content...or not.

I wait Xenoblade X way more than FF15, even if i didn't liked the first Xeno on Wii.

If it's successful, i'm sure we get some DLC

So about half the length of the good Final Fantasy games?

HowLongToBeat would disagree

That's enough for a Final Fantasy game. I mean most of them are below the 40 hour mark (doing only the main story). So 40 hours and a lot of extra content is enough for me.

Now let's wait to know more about the gameplay... that' my main concern...

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Seriously, Xenoblade was 100 hours and it's follow up will probably be even bigger. I'm not trying to be negative, but Squaresoft used to be my favorite developer. They have lost their touch and are no longer the benchmark of jrpgs. I'm glad Monolithsoft have filled the void.

I'd rather have sequels of this game than FFXIII.

Nah, if they say it's 40 hours it probably is. Their estimates for the lengths of FF13, FF13-2 and LR:FF13 were all pretty accurate. It will of course vary depending on the person, but the average times posted on HLTB for each line up very closely with what they claimed before launch.

Not to mention 40 hours is pretty much standard for FF. It's a JRPG, it's very easy to add fluff content :p The real question will be how much of it is said fluff, and how much is proper high quality content.

Gameplay doesnt worry me at all really, looks good. Its having that extra content that worries me, or implementing it well. FFXIII from my expirience had 0 extra content. I know it was their because my bro did it but it was just so poorly added I didnt notice it. FFXII is possibly the best way its ever been implemented with the Hunters Guild, something similar would be nice.
