I'd overwhelmingly go with single player, since I don't play most MP games for a number of reasons. I do prefer a satisfying story mode with excellent gameplay and good graphics, over a MP where people exploit the weapons only to win, ragequitting, hate mail and insults thru the mic, bad winners and big egos, cheaters, people with bad connection, etc.

I try out the MP modes if I'm interested on them. If I like one and excel at it, I stick with it. If it has character customization, I definitely try it.

Now, if it's co-op, that's another story. Since I know my weaknesses with competitive MP, I always opt for co-op with my friend. Also, I tend to meet a lot of random good, helpful, good-spirited players co-op, with the occasional dick. Proabably I'm not made for a competitive playstyle, unless it's Versus Ops. I'm damn good there.

Well, I like to play MP focused games and SP games, as long as both are good, I don't see the problem why not try the MP component of said game. I just hate it when lag comes and ruins my experience. Hackers too!

Yeah. Main reason I don't play UC3 MP anymore. Got really fed up with bullets not working for me. Die with two shots from the other player.

I'm becoming even more of a casual gamer.

When you talk about games of all time, my favorites are going to be single player experiences. Going forward though, I think more and more games are going to be like Destiny, where they're combined into a smooth experience. You really can't do one without the other in that game, and we're going to see that model evolve more and more.

I have an Xbox 360, been 2 years since I had a gold subscription. That tells enough.

Single-player of course! I rarely touch a game's multiplayer unless it's Left 4 Dead 2, Mario Kart 8, etc...

Single player and local coop (or coop online with real life friends and family) would be top of my list. Competitive multiplayer has essentially become a sports game. Teams and individuals competing for the highest score. That's not really how I get my jollies off. I picked up Titanfall for the PC a while ago, and needless to say, it just feels so shallow and repetitive compared to a deep, rich single player (or coop) experience.

Both are really important to me. I love a game with an amazing story and fluent gameplay mechanics, but at the same time good multiplayer increases the longevity of a game dramatically.
