Forums - Nintendo - U Craft, A Minecraft Clone For Wii U, To Be Announced

Why do people think MS wouldn't sue? Yes, there are Minecraft clones on XBL, but guess who owns that and makes money off of that? So, yea, given that MS now owns the IP, I'm not expecting them to be quite so nice towards clones as Notch was. Unless they launch only on XBL.

Perhaps we should wait to actually see some screens or footage and learn some actual details before declaring MS should/will sue.

Because if it gains traction it's a threat MS can nullify, what has WiiU selling less than XB1 got to do with anything?

Nothing to do with "downplaying" just stating the obvious.

But why would it even gain traction on the Wii U? There's also the fact they could sue all the other  Minecraft ripoffs on the PlayStation Network. The PlayStation network will always have more users than a paltry 7 million. And please, you're always downplaying any news about Nintendo.

Those Minecraft clones on PS4 are not taking off, thus MS have no need to sue. Is it really difficult for you to work out? If something on any platform becomes a threat to Minecraft, MS will sue, if it doesn't, they have no need.

I could be wrong, but I don't think there are any Minecraft clones on the PS Store.

I don't really expect much from a Minecraft clone..

Well I don't reckon that at all, to be honest, but there's a vast ocean between the two positions.

Why would anyone even give a shit? :/

Minecraft isn't all that trademarkable. They don't own the rights to building blocks and making worlds. Heck, the game itself is almost a ripoff of Lego. It's one of the biggest flaws of MS buying Mojang, that the game itself is not all that special to make. It's the inspiration of the users that is the real treasure.

Regardless, I'm sure this clone will hardly have any impact at all.

Ninty should get more resolute, hire that indie as first or second party (or third exclusive) and make it develop Super Mario Mine!

Toad Craft, made with the SM3DW/CT:TT engine.

What if CT:TT has a level builder O_O
