I could have posted a picture of a banana and it would be about as relevant as that graph.

Your original comment implies you believe the average joe couldn't have made better decisions than a 'multi billion company'  aka, MS. Taking into account what's happened since the XBone reveal, your comment doesn't really hold water. X poster could have hypothetically known better than the insightful and omnipotent MS, purely because despite their billions and billions of dollars, the decision making on their end has been astronomically poor.

This very site shows that dispite the "astronomically poor" decisons and while facing the most perfect home console ever made the XOne is doing 25% better than the 360 that: 1) was cheaper and sold at a loss 2) had no competition back in 2006 3) had very good word of mouth (3RLoD was still to come).

And I would bet that XOne owner today´s are more prone to subscribe to Gold Live than 360 owners back in 2006.

So, supose you are a MS share holder or member of the board of dirrectors, would you realy tell that Xbox division should stop promoting itself and its games?

Look at my reply to Kilter to see why that argument is ridiculous to keep bringing up.

And artists often need a business to fund their creation, which is why a lot of artists go to companies like MS and Sony.

People downplay MS for not creating some of their popular IPs. But give them no credit for keeping their IPs relevant. Something Sony has often struggled to do with their IPs.

For example, if Killzone was in the hands of 343 Studios if might have turned into something good! It doesn't matter if 343 created the IP. Its take talented people to keep the IP good, people more talented than Guerilla Games.

We dont know how talented they are until they make their own game , 343 never made an other game than Halo. It's just like Ready At Dawn

Nope. It still takes talent to create quality games from an already established IP.

Why has the Sonic games become shitty? Because they aren't put in the hands of talent.

Yes but it recquires much more talent to create their own IP, so we wont know if they can until they do

MS should buy EA because they wont be able to keep up with Sony's new IP development this gen (even though Sony will still cut it down).

How many new IPs did Sony create or pay 3rd parties to create last gen? A bunch.

How many were a success? A few.

Don't expect anything great until we actually see Sony's new IPs. Sony's 1st party titles on PS4 thus far have been lackluster. Based on reactions of The Order 1886, It looks like Sony has another lackluster title coming.

Why even bring this up when we both know that will change shortly, as the XBO is only ahead because of a great launch, but has since fallen greatly behind the 360 in monthly sales since the start of this year.  Or do you honestly think the One will match the 360's 6.8M for the '06 year.  I know I don't.  For the same time period (Jan-mid Sept) that the One has sold 2.3M, the 360, in 2006, sold 3.4M.  And the XBO has far less relevance in EU and Japan than the 360 did going forward.

6,8mi from January 1st  2014 to December 31st 2014??...

Yeap, I think it will, easely. If according to VGChartz (which I supose it´s undertraked) it sold about 2.5mi this year.

If it only repeats last year sales for the last 6 weeks of the year there is another 3mi. 5.5mi total

Well, let´s not forget that it´s now 20% cheaper and is getting at least two special bundles with a free game.

And oh! the other countries which represents 5% to 15% of the WW market.

But if you realy belive that the XOne is under a spell or curse and nothing that Microsoft could do can save it.... well, I can´t refute anything you say.

I'm  not arguing what requires more talent, doesn't really matter.

I'm simply making the point it still takes talent to keep an established IP great.

I noticed Forza Horizon 2 is scoring very well. That's what a talented team can do even if they didn't create the IP.

That's still 5.5M vs 6.8M, or 1.3M less.  Which I think is how it will play out.  It will probably be close to its US and UK numbers, but the rest of EU and Others will be down, so the new regions will have to compensate for that.  Still, not a healthy picture.  Which also helps show my point.  These bundles and deals aren't even helping it beat the 360's numbers, which started out even lower than the "dreaded" PS3.

I was saying that to explain you we dont know if they could do a better Killzone than Killzone dev since they never made anything else. ( and Killzone 2 is a great game , better than any Halo made by 343 based on Meta)

i disagree they aren't helping.   oh sure,. ps4 is beating xbone but xbone is still beating 360 over the same time frame.  these sorts of deals keep xbone in the public spotlight as a viable competitor.   without them xbox would be as dead globably is it already is in japan.  i promise you they are helping even if the end result isn't "winning".

looking at my goalpost charts (us, europe, uk) xbone should be able to say ahead of 360 at least though the start of 2015.   yeah the lead is shrinking but not at a super fast rate.  the lines probably won't cross (according to my charts) until next holiday.
