Forums - Gaming - Dev Facing Problems In CoD: Advanced Warfare XOne Development, Another Resolution-gate Controversy?

Every idiot on this planet can say shit like this. No shit, Sledgehammer has a harder time achieving 1080p on XB1 compared to PS4, this is a problem 99% of the developers face. Can we please tell Tidux to fuck off until he has a credible leak and not something as obvious as humans needing oxygen to breathe?
Lets just take a look at some other things Tidux said yesterday: ''News on 2.0 incoming soon. The FW will release soon after. #PS4.'' Thanks for letting us know, Sherlock. Firmware update 2.0 is coming soon, so no shit we'll get info about it soon. And here is another one: ''i got one more thing in my bag.. this one is bigger And it's obvious there's more PS4 exclusives to be announced, everyone can come up with that.

When will they fix this 1080p on Xbox issue? Its been almost a year since X1 came out and devs are still facing problems

Makes you wonder what Activision does with the money it earns for CoD... Certaintly not spending it to optimize games..

When it comes to the PS4 and XB1... optimizing the game has nothing to do with IQ parity. One system is simply "considerably" more powerful than the other. Contrary to what some would like to have you believe. So if they put in the exact same amount of work on both versions of the game, the PS4 version should by default come out looking better every single time. Getting the XB1 version up to par will require "more work".

If we were to be anal about it, we could also say that every game that runs identically on both systems actually indicates that the PS4 version has been gimped lol.

I hope no one gets all riled up about me saying the PS4 is considerably more powerful, it doesn't matter. Cause all multiplat devs will do wth that extra power are usually better textures, higher rez, maybe faster loading and/or a more stable framerate. But my point though, is that its not activisions fault. Its not possible to put 1.5ltrs  of water into a 1ltr bottle. Something has to give.

Tidux is such an unreliable insider.
"Vita will have a massive presence at E3" Nope.
"Guerrila Games and Sony Bend will be at E3 or Gamescom" Nope
"Beyond 2 Souls will be announced in July" Nope

What has the guy actually successfuly predicted?

to be fair companies change their annoucements all the time

shinobi also said that guerrilla had a trailer ready, however they could change their minds

bloodborne was suppose to announced last year at tgs.

This is not a problem to be fixed, unless you are a big game and you want to avoid the resolution war.

When the XOne was being developed, the "glorious 1080p" wasn´t a signicant demand from developers. If they realy wanted full HD all the time, they would have pushed MS to delivered.

This only became an issue after MS reversed their 24h online check-in. People in foruns still need to hate the XOne in one way or the other.

I don't like XB1 but this is pathetic, both systems have enough power to run games at 1080p WITH optimization.

I don''t trust Tidex as a accurate insider, but would not be surprised if they have having trouble with 1080/60fps on X1...

anyone could make that prediction though...

Not something you can completely fix.  The main problem is that the X1 hardware is weaker.

Better Dev. tools and optimization can help a lot, but the core problem will always be there.

Are you a game developer? Are you familiar with the curent state of PS4/XOne development kits, APIs and drives??

In your last statement you list things that developers could do... but no one is doing that. The difference in loading time, texture resolution and stable framerate is no where near the 40% GPU advantage (or 30% XOne disadvantage).

You basic only have the 1080p vs 900p and everything else is the same. Look at DF Metro Redux for exemple. It´s just easy to reach 1080p on the PS4 and a few extra AA, but every other aspect of the image is as difficult, or more, than on the XOne.

And as a computer scientist I can assure you that you can get much more than 40% performance boost over optimisation. Algorithms are not bottles.

there are sites that still believe in tidux and worse, there are still people who create threads which are based on these sites. tales from my ass, sorry. it's almost like insiderp.
