Definitely not. It follows the conventions of Zelda in appearance only, it's a completely different style of game, it's not made by Nintendo and clearly takes its greatest inspiration from a non-Zelda game. There's a reason it isn't titled The Legend of Zelda.

Actually the boss fights are gameplay wise the exact same. And I mean 1:1.
The difference is the number of mobs, the absence of dungeons and the expanded moveset. The story is your run of the mill JRPG story that could very well fit in the timeline.

This isn't even an interesting question. It is a spin-off, it was pitched as a spin-off, it looks like a spin-off, it plays like a spin-off, it even sounds like a spin-off. It doesn't have Zelda in the title, unlike every "proper entry" in the series.
No, Hyrule Warriors is a proper entry in the Hyrule Warriors franchise.
Got the game yesterday, and I have to say... Hyrule Warriors exceeded my expectations in every single way! Was prepared to a filler Wii U game while we wait for Smash, but it's actually really fun. If it keeps up like it has, it's already one of my top 3 Wii U games. It's just so awesome! Why haven't I heard of the Warriors games before now is a mystery.
On topic: I hope not and I think it's not canon, if so it would clutter everything in the timeline. But it still has a great story, I just think it's for the best that it isn't canon. And I believe it isn't.

I'd be quite happy if it were considered canon, so far. And I think it's a proper enough entry to be worthy of inclusion in the Zelda franchise, in the same way that Mario Sunshine is considered part of the Mario franchise despite its different-ness. That being said, I'm not in any way emotionally attached to my position the way that some in this thread are - if Nintendo decides that it's purely a spinoff, then so be it.
