Yes, this is a sensible explanation, maybe I tend to not get or simply forget it, particularly about Samsung success, because of all the Samsung products I or my family ever bought, only one is mildly satisfying and the others are or were utter crap. I also thought Android would have made easier to change brand preferences, but it actually didn' happen in a significant scale. Or maybe it happened a positive thing that happens to not favour Samsung competitors, phone users are mostly OS agnostic and almost exclusively buy basing themselves on apps, functions and HW features, so the leader brand just needs to satisfy these requests of theirs and brand fidelity gives it the edge on competitors.
