But anyways, the Omega form is hardly a different stage. It's the exact same stage without platforms. Don't get me wrong, they're a nice addition, but calling it a different stage is a cop-out.

I'm complaining because a demo is supposed to give you a good taste of what a game is like. This demo hardly gives you that. It gives you a teaser more than anything else - not enough to make a full impression of what owning the whole game is like. As an owner of all three previous Smash games, who was a serious gamer when the first came out so I've played every one to death, I feel like the demo is specifically aimed at people who have already played Smash - and that's the problem. A demo is supposed to entice new players into buying in. Old players, for the most part, are already planning on it. If it, perhaps, allowed unlocking of one more character and one more stage after a certain amount of gameplay, I'd have no complaints whatsoever!

We've already known about this fact for a while.  The reason it is there is because you actually don't get to choose your settings in the demo, and picking the Final Destination form of Battlefield also takes off items.  So, it is one stage, but two "modes" if you want to call it that.  Items or no Items.

And demos are rarely even close to the amount the full game gives you.  I think the amount they gave was fair, and does give you a good idea what the game is like.  The game isn't super complex, it doesn't require a whole lot more in order to understand at a basic level what it is and how it's like.  You claiming you've played the other games and played them a lot doesn't necessarily give you the "authority" (cannot find a better word here) to say how this would feel like to newcomers.   The way I see the demo is that, the way they handled the distribution of the early access one, a lot of new players can come in and play in a versus match with others (most likely newcomers will be the people who received a code from someone who had a platinum membership).  I feel like it's targeted towards both new and old players.  The old players are the ones that pull the new ones in, I think.

I'm Impressed! The game really looks Great in the Nintendo 3DS, I want to buy this too... damn.
I used especially Link, my favourite.
Megaman is really hard to use or it was me?
I can't wait for the wiiU Version.

Amazing.
The combat is better than brawl but the jumping is still floaty thats my only gripe with it.

I'm perfectly fine with the "floatiness" of SSB4.  But you know, "floaty" can describe every Smash Bros game including Melee.  That floaty feeling is needed for recovery from when you get knocked far off the stage.  Just saying.

Melee was 100% less floaty than this and thats a fact. Only certain characters in Melee were truly floaty.

I was pissed that the game didn't come out in Aug. so I thought I was going to just wait for the U version, but it seems like both are a must have now. Other than having a little trouble with the smash attacks (probably b/c I don't play the 2ds much, not used to the sliders) the game is flawless, fast and great looking, what you expect from a smash game.

100% less floaty isn't a parameter at all, you know.  You say that's a fact, but it's an arbitrary thing because you're mostly referring to the gravity of the game.  What constitutes as "floaty" is subjective.  I'm not saying that SSB4 doesn't have any "floaty"-like physics, but Melee definitely has it as well, so your complaint is rather subjective if your complaint is "floaty" without anything to relate it to.  It's a generic term that can be applied to many situations.

Generally when I see people complain about something being "floaty," they compare it to something else or say it's "too floaty" (as a preferential statement).

edit: What I'm trying to say is that your complaint was worded as objective when it is subjective.

Already posted my impressions in the Official thread but since I'm a Smash nut, I wanna talk about it here too! So here's my very first impressions I posted last night:

First of all, getting used to the controls is a challenge, my hands are so used to the Gamecube controller that I sometimes press the wrong button. Also the lack of C-stick does make a difference but I think it'll be a good experience to force myself not to depend on it for quick smashes and air attacks.

The game itself is really fun, faster than Brawl for sure but slower than Melee, which fits just right with my tastes. The screen size is fine (I have a 3DSXL), it did get a bit small when the Andross assist trophy popped up and the camera pulled back but nothing dramatic.

As for the characters, I'm enjoying the 5 available. Mega Man takes some getting used to because his options are limited at close range but he's by no means a bad character (his U-tilt has crazy knockback). Villager is a nice quirky character, I'm still not sure how useful his Down-B can be but I guess it'll come with practice.

The veterans play pretty similar to their Brawl version, Pikachu's Thunder (Down-B) is the biggest change I've noticed. Also, I'm actually not half bad with Mario which is strange because I never really got the hang of him in Brawl (still suck at his recovery though).

Now, here's some updated feelings:

After a while something clicked and suddenly I was at ease with the controls and I stopped missing my quick Smashes and confusing buttons. Now I'm not sure I'm going to change them once I get the full game (apart from Up to jump, I hate that).

I was a big Pikachu player in Brawl so he's the one I can compare more easily. He mostly feels the same apart from his Down-B which is severely nerfed. You practically can't kill off the top with it now, the knockback is still good when the lightning connects with Pikachu, I have yet to catch someone in the sweetspot that spikes them down when off the stage.

Mario and Link feels very good to play as and I feel they are better than in Brawl but can't say for sure since I barely played them.

Mega Man requires adaptation but he has very good options. Instead of using jabs at close range you have to rely on his down-tilt and up-tilt which are awesome. His air game is great with a long range down spike, slashing Front-Air and Back Air and my favorite the Up-Air which if correctly placed can be deadly.

Right now, Villager is the character I'm having the least fun playing with but I don't hate him either.

I'll expand on the Link part specifically for you.  In Brawl, he was definitely worse.  His arrows have a better knock back on them this time around (and roughly do the same amount of damage, if I recall correctly).  The tips part of the game said that the tip of Link's sword during that leap slash is more powerful, and indeed Link has a lot of power here (he did in Brawl as well, but this still seems like an improvement to me).  Everything is faster so obviously that isn't something Link-specific, but it definitely helps.  I am not 100% sure on this, but I think bombs might take longer to explode this time.  Whether or not that's a good thing, I'm not sure.  His hookshot (the grab) doesn't fall to the ground and leave you extremely vulnerable like it did in Brawl, but the reach has been reduced back to something like how it was in Melee.  One last thing I noticed about Link in the demo is that when he receives the boomerang after throwing it, Link doesn't have to stop or take that second to grab it and be unable to attack like it did in Brawl (there is an animation there in this game, but it can be interrupted I think).

Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say since I don't know all the jargon the competitive smash bros players know.

Game is pretty awesome looking and the music is incredible, really recommend headphones for it. While the combat is really good.... I still think it's a cut below how accurate Melee felt and I just can't get my head around B not being Jump just feels so counter intuitive after playing so much on the GC.

That said, before this demo I was on the fence about getting it, now I'm 100% day one in the bag buying it, so GG demos Ninty, keep um coming.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Link is so much better in the demo than in Brawl that he's practically all I'm paying as right now, and I avoided him like the plague in Brawl.
