It is for platinum members of last year. I talked to someone who received a code but is not platinum as of right now. Hope someone can get lucky! I hate all the people that are gonna get codes and not check their email.

It's got to count for last year's platinums, right? They can't expect that many people to be at platinum after only two and a half months... Unless the whole point is that they only want to give it to the real diehards that are there already.

It sounds like they are sending them out in batches. It also sounds like there are 3 requirements you must meet. You must have hit platinum status last year, registered at least one 3DS game, and be signed up for their emails.

Once folks start getting codes, we can change this OP into a list of who has them and how many they're willing to give/have given.
