thruth, for  people like me PC are the way and 4k is a reallity... at least on PC.

4K isn't going to be abundantly available to all consumers for a decently long time.

Few PC video cards can deliver gaming at 4k resolution.  Console gaming on 4k is likely 8 years off which would fit a slightly abbreviated console generation cycle.  But 8 years from now when you can buy a console that plays at 4k people will still say, "Xbone1480 and Playstation 5 are already out of date because they don't offer full sensory VR 5120x2880 with taste and tactile feedback".

So if its not like "top-of-the-line" its out of date.

Don't think 4K will become mainstream any time soon.  First they need to have some sets around the $300 mark before the masses will jump in.

So the author starts off by saying:

Then goes into an overly long rant about how not being 4k is problematic.

Ooookay then...

Forbes makes the worst articles about video games I've ever seen. Seriously, I don't know why people talk about anything they say. 4k is not going to be the standard in a year, I don't see it becoming the pc standard for at least 3 years tbh, and that makes this console gen right on track with the other one. 4k isn't easy to do. I have 2 7950's running my 4k monitor, and I still have trouble maxing out some games. Now, I know the 7950 is an older card now (almost 3 years now), but it still can max out the majority of games in 1080p, and 2 most definitely will. But battlefield 4 still struggles in 4k. So the author of this article is expecting a $400 system to be able to hold up in 4k. Yep. This is why I laugh at everything forbes writes.

LOL like 85% of PC gamers have PC's weaker than the PS4. So are all of these people screwed as well?

HEY, don't say that! You sound intelligent, and it's making forbes sad. So what? The ps4 should be running 4k even though that might not even be a standard until the end of this gen lol. 

Given the very big push from TV manufacturers, and the fact that prices are falling down fast enough, I wouldn't be surprised if that part of the article opinion is true. But that doesn't mean that 1080p TVs are going to disappear, they will simply replace the cheap 720p TVs with 1080p ones while the medium/top models from every TV manufacturer adopts the 4K resolution.

Besides that, I can't agree with anything else in this biased and negative article. Not even today PCs can render every game at 4K and at least 30fps with the fastest cards unless they go with multiple cards setups. There were 0 chances of this gen consoles being able to render games at 4K, no matter if they were launched in 2013, if they were going to be launched this year or even 2015.
