Forums - Gaming - Sony vs Microsoft double standards?

I find it more interesting that it seems to be ok for Sony to buy exclusivity in marketing and content for a product (destiny) while it is from frowned up if MS does the same (Tomb Raider).

Win win for them no matter what, they can sue make ms look like fools.  Or go big and leave it be just comment on it how some dont take things seriously and its unfortunete.

Either way, they benefit and ms is the fool.

I dont think anyone would sue MS, companies much bigger than sony and activision combined choose to pay MS royalties instead of fighting their patents, half of which (i think) were found to be invalid from a business standpoin but yet they still pay them.

LOL! when I went to the website for Destiny fragrance all I saw was this message: "Hi. There are some great Xbox One offers available at the moment. Please check with retailers for more information."

Is that the same for everyone, or just people outside the UK?

Delaying a game on a competing console and saying it's going to be exclusive to your console is the difference.  Sony never said Destiny is exclusive to the PS4, they said they have exclusive content.  Destiny has not been delayed on the Xbox consoles either.  I'm ok with COD, Assasins Creed, and Destiny marketing deals.  The same game will be released on all consoles on the same day.  It's when that changes I have a problem.  Two different things.

It's like that time that EA released Titanfall on 3 different platforms, and everyone and their mother called it an XBO exclusive anyways. Yet I get reamed everytime I praise LBP3 as a PS4 exclusive.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

wow, you mean you really can't tell the difference between the two models of business?  or are you just trying to stir up shit?

On TR... what would people say if Sony just put an ad in their site "TR coming to PS4 in Summer 2016"??? Probably would piss MS because they avoid like hell to say it isn't exclusive. And the flack MS got for it is just from taking a game from PS4 with no real benefit to anyone, have Sony done it with any AAA game?

And regarding lawsuit... if Sony have a deal with Activision regarding the exclusive advertisment for the game they could sue MS because their contract prohibit MS from doing it (sure MS could allegate not knowing it, which is BS since they have those kind of contracts and Sony announced the deal) and anyway MS used trademark from Acti and/or the parfum and could be sued for it as well...

On the hypocrisis side, you are being more than most people by knowing the roles were reversed the same would happen, since sony got a lot of flack and support from the EA case and MS for this ad. It all relates to fanbase.
