Forums - Gaming - Microsoft finally launched the Xbox One in Denmark and this happens.....

I actualy like these kind of fights between competitors. Someone said it's like in the PS1 days and I totaly agree. I remember Sega holding a PS1 on top of a skyscrapper and a voice said "can it fly" then the guy just dropped the PS1. There was a Crash advert where Crash was at Nintendo headquaters shooting things. Sega was pretty agressive with their ads during the SNES Genesis era.

Both Sony and MS are doing their best and I like it this way. Keep the ads coming, more perfume and more banners.

Exactly. While people can debate whether Sony was being arrogant or not when they said they didn't see the value in EA Access, they're missing the actual point. Success of this service can possibly lead to a horrible trend that is not consumer friendly. Also, this is EA, a company that won two consecutive Golden Poo awards and nearly earned a third. We all saw what happened with Sims and Battlefield 4, and now EA messed up on NHL 15, too. As Jim Sterling said, don't put your faith in EA.

Isn't that up to consumers though? Isn't Sony not allowing the option to take the service or not anti-consumer?

Of course it's not anti consumer. This is what was going round the internet when Sony said they werent going to do it, and it's a stupid claim..

Should Ford put in adverts to sell other makes of cars. Perhaps Tesco should sell items from Aldi...because it must be anti consumer for them to sell only their store brand  products. Perhaps games companies shouldnt just try to make and sell their own products, they should try and get money for other companies also. I dont have access to XBOX Gold on PS4, that much be anti consumer right...

Sony can put whatever they like on their service, you could say EA access is now a competitor in the same market place... but regardless of being a competitor product its totally upto sony if they want that on their console or not.....

So why would it be upto the consumers... just think about what you are saying for a moment. This is business, in very very few businesses the consumer is making decisions, they might choose a product to buy, they dont actually have the power to make a company make decisions on what services they have access to.

That's not really a good example. That would be like saying why aren't Sony advertising Xbox on the PlayStation or something...

EA Access isn't a competitor to Sony, it would complement them. I expect Sony would get a cut of the subcriptions to start with, and with the heavy online focus of alot of EA games it would likely mean EA Access subscribers would also be PS+ subscribers, further helping Sony.

And yes, it is anti-consumer. If people want it or not should be up to them and not Sony. What if a supermarket were to say 'we aren't going to sell bread anymore because we don't think it's good enough value'. That would be anti-consumer right?

Of course its a perfectly good example. EA Access is a competitor to PS+ and PS Now Subscription services, they are gaming subscription/rental services...if you cannot see that, then I cant really help you. It's pretty obvious.

It is not anti-consumer, you are wrong. Sorry it's as simple as that. You are thinking from a position of a gamer who wants the service on the platform and not as a business who are free to make a decision on what they offer to the customer. You think just because someone wants something, they should get it....that's not how life works I'm afraid. You are going to be very disappointed in life if that's how you think things work.

The bread example is poor. You can still buy bread, just not a particular type of bread. I.E I can still play FIFA, Need for Speed by buying the digital or disc versions. It's still available but in a different method of delivery.

But.... I was always told that EA Access and PS Now were nothing alike and can't be compared?

Yes, I do want the service on PS4. I do want Sony to change their minds, what I have issue with is those praising Sony for it. That is pretty much saying 'because I don't like it, no one else should be able to have it either'. To be fair, they did also get quite a bit of flak from Sony fans for it as well, so props to those people.

Well that's not something I've heard from the majority of Sony users... so I don't know who these people who are telling you that are..lol.

I dont want the EA service, but if it means that PSNow becomes more affordable for users then thats a positive result of it all.

And you could ( I won't be as unpolite as you demanding people to do what I want ) just avoid entering in pointless thread after thread with a specific agenda.

Some people are just too wound up. I started this thread because I thought the pics and video were funny. Nothing more

Exactly!  I swear some people take this a bit too seriously..

There are salty users. I actually tough Sonywas rather weak on this. Maybe because they are strong there and ms won't sell much and hadn't made any ad they were this low profile.

And I love when competitors take potshots, digs, etc. On the France case it was funny and the ad was dumb and possibly breaking law but for me as customer I just laugh off.
