Joke itself is funny, but too bad that the context ruins it.
How is it desperate though? Microsoft knows destiny is gonna sell better on ps4 and that nothing they do will change that.

Why ps4 will win September there's no doubt in that

MS has exclusive ad/marketing rights to Call of Duty and Madden, all of last gen and presumably this gen as well. Some of the biggest franchises in all of gaming. And they had exclusive ad/marketing rights to one of the biggest games of last gen, GTAIV.
But as soon as Sony tries the same tactic to promote Destiny, MS goes "wahhhhh, we wanna advertise the game too....but mean old Sony won't let us. Thanks for 'smelling that something was up'" as if Sony did something wrong?
Sure, the "loophole" is funny, but it still screams of butthurt and desperation. And they can probably get in trouble since "Destiny is actually an FPS coming to Xbox" is clearly advertising about a game, not a "fragrance", a game they aren't allowed to advertise

Lol it isn't funny to many on here because Microsoft is doing it but if Sony was doing it.....oh boy! It would be hilarious!
BTW I do remember seeing ads from cod on PS. Microsoft got exclusive dLc not exclusive advertising rights......completely different.
Ignore whether it's rude or mocking, and don't consider that MS has been doing it for years with Call of Duty advertisement.
If they don't have legal permission to run advertisements for it but are clearly running a viral ad which links to a page that explicitly mentions the game, aren't they potentially violating those rules? Aren't they trying to get away with something they aren't supposed to do in a way that they're hoping will just barely not get them sued? They're essentially trying to "call the bluff" and expect Activision to not sue them and possibly get negative publicity for doing so. It's clearly an ad and violates the agreement, but it's perhaps obscured enough that some gamers will defend them for it.

I'll be honest, it took me a while to figure out what you meant.
