Forums - Sony - The Order 1886 "stumbles where it counts"

The way he describes gungameplay makes me feel happy because it reminds me of Killzone 2 somehow. Difficult to operate! Kz2 is still my favorite shooter ever

I feel this games gonna be as generic 3rd person cinematic experience as you can get, maybe fun for one playthrough because it feels so claustrophobic on-rails experience with good amounts of QTEs thrown in.

Maybe I'm wrong, will see.

I read the demo is from the 2013 build that didn't have rifle recoil. Why on earth would they use such an old version?

The game looks great, but it doesn't seem like it will play as well. A shame but hopefully when it launches it'll be better!

Having said that when the game launches I'll make my own decision on the quality.

The huge problem is that the same old build has been used for months. As a result, we're all stuck with the same setting, weapons, physics, progression, and whatnot. We all saw how night-and-day the Gamescom trailer was from the old-build demo.

Sounds like he wants it to be Gears of War and the weapons to be high-powered technology from the future.

Gears of War is the standard for TPS games and good reason for that with both great story and top-quality gameplay so of course it will be compared to what EPIC has done with the TPS genre.  Just like kart racers will be compared to Mario Kart or platformers will be compared to Mario, its not much different.

Either way im interested in this game still.  Not blown away by it because im not a fan of the setting, but i hope it does well at least in the story department.  If its story is good im not too worried about the gameplay as i think it looks fun enough.

Seems like he was surprised that a 3rd person shooter plays like a 3rd person shooter. Its difficult to please critics these days...

Come on !
The gameplay looks varied and great from this trailer

Nothing to worry about it IMHO

People love to jump on negative previews, especially if it's an exclusive for their console of chocie, but I for one applaud a games journalist willing to give a preview that isn't just a heaping of praise, only to be followed up with a very average review score.

In this same breath, I applaud a journalist who gives a thorough preview, be it negative or positive, as some give previews just for "the bait". This stuff works both ways.

Well the problem is, that as soon as you give a negative preview/review, especially on an exclusive, it is simply dismissed as "the bait".

I think the problem is that people think the game recieved nothing but negative previews, which is completely false. I fully expect for The Order to be a solid, well-made 3rd person shooter. Which,  coincidentally, is exactly what I expect Quantum Break to be. If Uncharted 4 is anything less than a masterpiece then I would understand the outrage, but this is a brand new IP, made by a company who has NEVER worked on a AAA console game. Ready at Dawn has been working on handheld games for years now. Let's give them some leniency shall wel?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
