I think Nintendo is pushing to the limit. More sales & more hardcore games are coming.

People don't like the fact that it's going to have exclusive games, which is understandable.

I don't hate the console, I hate Nintendo's policy. The only reason why I haven't bought a 3DS thus far is I KNEW they would make a major hardware redesign. They always do that and it pisses me off. Now I didn't expect something like this - this is basically a new console! This is pretty much what Wii was to the Gamecube. Not a move into the next gen, but a side-step.

I know now that I will buy the N3DS, but I guess I'm still gonna wait at least a year for a possible redesign, I just don't trust Nintendo when it comes to their hardware.

I was quite close to buying a 3DS this year or early 2015, so glad I haven't done it yet. I'd be so f****ng furious right now.


PS. I hope the old DS Acekard will still work in N3DS.

I wonder if more games for it will be at TGS?

How are they robbing us? Because 1 game so far and maybe other Wii ports or even GCN ports will only play on the N3DS?

Nintendo has been doing this for years with its handhelds, Sony recently did it too (though it failed).

Edit: Its not like all games will be exclusive to it. We have 20-25 known 3ds games that aren't released yet and only 1 of them is exclusive. A game such as MH4G and SSB perfect for the N3DS yet they work with 3ds :)

Like others have said they did the same thing for Gameboy and Nintendo DS, GBC and DSi were both mid-gen upgrades that had extra features, slightly more powerful and had a few exclusives not available on previous models.

Yeah, I think most of the folk really upset about this might not have actually been either paying attention in previous handheld generations or already have a dislike for Nintendo and this just adds to the fire of things to complain about.

Personally, part of me understand the anger, yesterday I was plenty pissed about having to buy a new system to play some of the exclusives. But I've calmed down, remembered stuff like the original dimly lit GBA, to the excellently lit GBA SP and the DS to the DS Lite to the DSi (not counting the XL/LL) conversions. Ultimately, it will all boil down to the games but based on history I can't see Nintendo focusing exclusively on the Nu3DS revision and leaving the original 3DS/2DS owners out in the cold.

Although if they say that GBA/DS games on virtual console are exclusive for the new device I am sure there will be some extremely pissed off 3DS/2DS owners that will demand something like a 50% credit for having to upgrade to play what most believe should have been part of the 3DS' functions from the jump.

With N3DS annouce -> 3DS owners wont play xenoblade.

Also, every game that is possible to run on regular 3DS will be in 3DS. Every developer would think like that(45M base is considerable).
If a game wouldnt run on regular 3DS, the regular 3DS owner wont play it. Even if nintendo didnt annouce N3DS.

So, i cant see any problem of the fucking N3DS.
