Yeah, I think most of the folk really upset about this might not have actually been either paying attention in previous handheld generations or already have a dislike for Nintendo and this just adds to the fire of things to complain about.

Personally, part of me understand the anger, yesterday I was plenty pissed about having to buy a new system to play some of the exclusives. But I've calmed down, remembered stuff like the original dimly lit GBA, to the excellently lit GBA SP and the DS to the DS Lite to the DSi (not counting the XL/LL) conversions. Ultimately, it will all boil down to the games but based on history I can't see Nintendo focusing exclusively on the Nu3DS revision and leaving the original 3DS/2DS owners out in the cold.

Although if they say that GBA/DS games on virtual console are exclusive for the new device I am sure there will be some extremely pissed off 3DS/2DS owners that will demand something like a 50% credit for having to upgrade to play what most believe should have been part of the 3DS' functions from the jump.
