Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Announce New Nintendo 3DS And New Nintendo 3DS LL

Will work in conjunction with Wii U, i.e it's now the same as a gamepad? I think so.

It's not the problem for me to buy a new 3DS if it is worth money (let's wait what will be exclusive to it) but I am thinking about all the data on my current 3DS. I still can't believe that announcement.

Transferring is not a problem. Just make sure to switch your sd card over to the new 3ds if you want your pictures to still be there.

A re-design with a full suite of buttons and sticks, SNES style colored face buttons, an amazing classic-style jrpg as the key title.... I think I may shed a tear.

Between Miyamoto's comments about focusing on the core gamer, the SNES button asthetic and giving Xenoblade a relaunch and proper push, I have a tingling of excitment that Nintendo may be finding its game. This along with the great work they've been doing on Wii U with MK8, Xenoblade, Splatoon and Zelda.

The main reason it pisses me off is that it will run 3DS games better than the 3DS (yes, I'm looking at you SSB), so I'm kinda tempted to buy it, but I was already planning to buy the WiiU next year, and I sure as hell don't have enough money to buy both...

WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME NINTENDO ?

Hmm, any idea about support for DS-games and DSi-downlaods? DSi dropped support for GBA and later Wii-models dropped support for GC. I hope they still keep DS- and DSi-support, because I have quite a lot games for these.

No DS support would mean having to choose between DS compatibility or New 3DS exclusives, unless Nintendo lets you use your account on more than one unit. That would be a big issue for me.

I'm not interested so far in the one announced exclusive (Xenoblade) as I already have that and I think that fits more to home console. Still I'm interested in the new 3DS, for all the new features. Especially the built in NFC-reader will be sweet with amiibo. But if I transfer my data from my current 3DSXL and the DSi-games would stay - that would be troublesome. Also I still own and play a lot of DS-games. I hope they keep BC. It's especially important for 3DS in my opinion, because I don't want to take multiple mobile devices with me. If they drop DS-support, I have hard to think, if I will get the new 3DS, and probably wait.

The better 3D apparently is because they use the FFC to track your eyes now.

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

So, this is going to be like the GameBoy Color with some games requiring the newer version? I wonder when the next DS/GameBoy will come out then?

Kinda, except one was released 8 years after the original while the other is released 3 years after the original, and 1 year after the latest edition.

Let's hope the next Nintendo handheld won't come out too soon. Or else it would be the ultimate d*ck move.
