Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU eShop Demographics: 94% above 18, only 7% female

Damn, we need more chicks damn it! Its basically a sausage fest over there! Although, when u have miis named bj and u position ur miis nose below the mouth to make it seem like its sucking on some wood, then maybe its not too surprising although 7% still seems too low

lol, hate to say it but that pretty much is the hardcore Nintendo fan demographic too, so these numbers aren't a big surprise.

Women are all about their smartphones/tablets nowadays, so Nintendo has no chance there.

Some kids have a Wii U (though probably not that many) but they don't exactly have a credit card handy for buying eShop content with.

Kids probably still rely on their parents to buy them everything.

Proud to be part of that 7%

Well women played a big part in the casual wave a while back and with the casuals gone I am not surprised to see a drastic change in the ratio

Only 7%? that's way too low.

And only 6% are 18 and younger? so much for a kids' console, Amiright? XP

That, or children are far less likely to use the eShop.  Not that surprising as kids access to money would be far less and if they had an account may be made by the parent to monitor expenditures.

This isn't much of a surprise to be honest. Traditional gaming consoles are generally bought by men, so the lack of women is no surprise. Lamentable, yes, but still not a surprise.

Also, a bit unrelated but Damon may have let slip in the presentation that Gone Home is coming to Wii U. Here's a link to the point in the video where he says that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6nYz1HHPJU&feature=youtu.be&t=6m48s
