Just turned my Wii U on - no sign of the update... :(
EDIT - Got it - needed to access MK8 through the Wii U menu rather than through quick start up.

How do you put the map on the screen? There's no option menu and touching it just makes it bigger on the gamepad like before

Cheers mate!
Man, this is awesome; the new cars drive and look great, the on-screen map and the default option being "next race" are subtle but helpful improvements, and the promise of 16 future tracks, 6 future characters, and 8 future vehicles is truly exciting.
I'll download it now. If they had all this stuff at the beginning along with a better battle mode, the game would've been perfect.

Oh, I don't know what to think of that... And fire hopping is still there... |
Not to sure either as I stated before. Depends how it it is implemented.

Me too. I'm pleased. DLC is somewhat new territory for a big Nintendo release. See they sometimes embrace the modern way of things. The version we got could have stayed just as it was, but with DLC it has made it that much more exciting. it is going to keep the game relevent and on peoples minds a whole lot more with the titular promise of more characters, cars and tracks! Sure they could have given this all to us, but this gives us something to look forward to.
