Yes, and we all know how that ended up!

I'd have to try it, main concern is it will make me sick like many first person titles do.

Have fun together in short. Must be really fun to do that with VR google/whatever device on the head... |
Or you can know, you can just attach the VR to a TV and have your friends take turns while watching you play on the big screen?
I don't see how having a lan party suddenly makes VR less desirable.

Not serious, right?

because of its inherent ability to introduce completely new genres and sub-genres of gaming? immersion and atmosphere are really important, and having a sense of "being there" is especially appealing and something that was never possible in the gaming before. We have the technology to achieve it now with dedicated SDKs Sony and Oculus are developing and the software tools, hardware, and graphics to make it reality. It's a very promising market, especially with how quickly it has developed over the past few years. Remember, Oculus was only just on Kickstarter 2 years back. Look where it is now and how much attention its garnered from other companies.

I'm serious? I mean, all it requires is a computer and VR setup. You're making it seem like there's only one true way to enjoy multiplayer with your friends. Based on your previous post, everyone needs to bring a crap ton of stuff to enjoy each others company. Again your argument is completely illogical. Nothing is stopping you and your friends from having a LAN party. Couch gaming is not going anywhere. People are reacting as if VR is suddenly going to completely overthrow the current gaming market here. Is it going to have a big splash though? No doubt.

PS3 level VR should be possible. GT6 already ran at 1440x1080 at near 60fps on PS3. That level of graphics would be fine with me in VR. Wipeout HD in VR, yes please. |
On PC everybody whas full control over their experience it means that you have to lower your settings yourself to make it run smooth. Not sure if its necessary to run the game at native resolution. You can also put all settings on low. To reach the necessary framerate.

Yeah I'm just wondering if they will do anything extra to ensure a smooth performance, dynamic detail levels for example. Usually when I go with auto detect settings the game runs fine 90-95% of the time, but there are still sections I have to go in the settings or let it chug along for a bit. I would imagine that to be very disruptive and nauseating in VR. I guess best to wait and see what the recommended/optimal specs are before upgrading my pc.
After years of gaming I'm tired of holding a controller, it's time for some virtual reality damnit!

Bull I love Sony but there PR talks a lot of smack
