Or if everyone wants to get together from the comfort of their own homes on another occasion, they just wear the headset, that's the beauty about optional peripherals, morpheus does nothing spatially which cannot be done with the move camera and dualshock4, so even games designed specifically for morpheus will be playable without it. But if you DO use it, then you get to experience a level of immersion that is simply not possible with a standard TV. Personally, VR support in Silent Hills is the only thing I need to garuntee a day one purchase. |
Sure and you are right for single player this will be good.
Now what make it this unfair thing and MAJOR step forward like Sony is pretending?
My main problem is that I'm not a fan of strapping a helmet on my head to play a game. Like 3D TVs, the idea of a wearable peripheral annoys me, especially if I have a group of people over and the only way to enjoy the experience is to have the device.
I think there are definite uses for VR, but like the Kinect, I wouldn't be surprised if those uses are better for stuff outside of gaming.
Author of science fiction and other genres, I write under the pen name Desmond Shepherd. The second season of my series The Permanent Man premieres on November 11, 2014. Pre-order the season premiere The Walls Have Ears on Amazon today!
Gotta hand it to them that they know how to talk up their projects.

Probably reffering to the framework to support it already existing - playstation move, dualshock 4, the camera, and lots of experience and sdk support for 3d profiles. If Microsoft wanted to do the same they would have to start more or less from scratch, or buy oculus off of zuckerberg.
And no matter how successful oculus is, it wouldn't be able to reach the same level of mainstream appeal as morpheus potentially could.
I have an oculus rift and im telling you right now...its gonna change everything!
Once you try it on...you become a believer...Its sooo freaky...
