Forums - Sony - VR Is Such A Major Step Forward for Games It's Almost Unfair, Sony Says

Nope.

Racing and any other simulation games will be awesome in VR. FPS and RPGs need some rethinking in parts but will be extremely immersive.

I'm only a bit afraid it's still too early. 60fps is kinda low for VR where any lag or inaccuracy in head movement updates will cause motion sickness. And spreading the view out to 90 degrees horizontal at 1080p is like going back to 360p gaming.

It will be a major step in the future. Morpheus will be a small first step.

The CV1 from Oculus will have 90 HZ and 1440p OLED (100 degress horizontal FOV). Which should be acceptable for the consumer for now.  I am not sure how Sony is going to do it with Morpheus but I cant imagine that they will bring it to the market in its current form.

That pricing though.... and that killer app.

its going to work with racing and first person shooters everything else I dont see it work..

Mario.. star wars.. gta.. zelda.. destiny..  Think about it.. be there.. VR will rock the gamer world.. first

But then.. The world will go crazy.. almost every thing is posible in vr

(Think Surrogates.. whit out the robots)

In few years.. we can work the sun.. dive in the caribbean.. be "live" at the world cup and join a rave party.. in just few hours..

You know on Sept. 9th we are doing an Xbox One lan party; everybody bringing their console at my place with TVs etc. (before some smart asses says you cannot play Destiny on local network); and you know what we are going to have some drinks, food, look at each others TV, etc... Have fun together in short.

Must be really fun to do that with VR google/whatever device on the head...

Wow, way to completely disregard some awesome technology. This is something for single player games. Imagine playing a game like Skyrim with this on, it would look amazing!

Not all of us host massive LAN parties, you know.

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

Strapping a tiny screen to your face to help you pretend that you're "in the game" is no more a "step forward for gaming" than the optical illusion that shit is popping out of your screen at you ("3D") is.

Period.

I agree, but it's a shame PS4 (and xone's) hardware aren't powerful enough to do VR properly.

Disregard? Nope, I'm actually looking forward for this in SP game, MAJOR STEP forward? Nope...

You dont percieve it as a screen anymore. It actually makes you feel like you are somewhere else. Lets hope we can replace the tiny screen with contactlense sized screens one day.
