Lol Wii U will beat XB1 worldwide maybe XB1 will beat Wii U in America but Japan is Nintendo territory and Europe doesn't seem to be buying the One as much as Wii U so yeah. I do see X1>WiiU in US though

Why are people so extremely qucik to jump the gun with these things? Give the Wii U a couple weeks of it possibly (I say possibly because the system being overtracked is still a very real scenario) outselling the X1 by a little and you suddenly get all those people being completely sure, that the X1 will end up last.

Do we need a reminder here about how the Wii U did in its actual first year? Hint: A lot worse than the X1 is doing right now. What makes people so sure that X1 will not get better sales next year?

I mean people keep going on about Smash this, Smash that, but have you actually forgotten what MS has next holiday season? Halo, a franchise that quite simply is a lot bigger than Smash and is actually really exclusive. So what do you people, that say the X1 will end up third, actually think the X1 will do? 15-20 million? Cause the Wii U is sure as hell not on track to do more than 20-25, which might even be a pretty optimistic prediction.

What in your mind is going to make Wii U sales pick up so much pace and what is going to stop the X1 from picking up pace so that the end result will be Wii U: 2nd, X1; 3rd.

I'm serious, explain that to me.

Sure your graph for the first 9 weeks shows XB1 catching up, but since Mario Kart 8 the gap has been growing.....

Also who cares if XB1 started strong all that means is that it could fall flat on its face.

We're talking about a difference of 170k since the release of MK8 according to Vgchartz here, that's nothing. That's a number that can easily be eradicated by one holiday week, hell, who knows maybe the Tier 2 launch will be enough to reduce all the headway the Wii U has made in the last 2 months back to nothing.

One major problem with Wii U so far has been a horrible release schedule, last year Lego City and Pikmin were the only two major releases in the first 8 months, this year Donkey Kong and Mario Kart were the only two major releases in the first 8 months. Each of those games did provide bumps in sales but they were too few and far in between. If (big if) Nintendo can start releasing games in a timely manner (not release 2 games in the first 8 months then stack the holidays like 2013/2014) we can potentially see not only an increased baseline but also more small bumps throughout the year.

Just to be clear im not saying that Wii U will beat Xbox One or that the op prediction wont come true, im just saying that Wii U has more than simply Smash+Zelda

I don't get why Xbox guys always bring up MK when they talk about Wii U's current sales and their inevitable fall, but completely ignore MS's moves of desperation to keep their sales going. Bundling games for free at launch, later including the much hyped Titanfall. Then, the recent price cut to $399, what some thought was PS4's magic price point and the only reason it was outselling the One.

So, before we start saying which console has 2nd on lock, we need to see which benefits the most from the holidays. And also see what next year's sales will look like for the One, when the pricecut effect has fully worn off and the holidays are over. 2015 will also see a $199-$249 Wii U, which is cheap enough for casual purchases and for core gamers to consider it for a secondary console.

Halo isnt alot bigger than SSB bro :)

First of all SSB is a fighter and for a fighter its by far and away the most popular up there with Tekken and Street Fighter (i say Mortal Kombat is a good 4th). Halo, a FPS that we all kno dominates every genre with EASE Is huge but saying Halo is bigger than SSB? C'mon now!

SSBB has the highest sales of Both franchises (though Halo 3 is a close 2nd with just a few Thousand behind it). Want to bet SSB 3DS will outsell Halo 5 WW Lifetime? 

Trust me both are very Huge in their own way but Saying Halo is alot bigger? Nahhhhh. Overall excluding Sales as well SSB is definitely more popular imo. 

Edit: OT Yes X1 has a good chance of outselling wiiu (US vs WW). So unfortunate for WiiU though :-/

I agree. Xbox one should sell more than the Wii U  and the One does really well in North America. However, I think it's too soon to say the One's North American sales will outsell the Wii U worldwide's sale at the end of this generation when we haven't seen the One's sales this October through December. I may be overly cautious, but I think we can all agree how unpredictable video game console sales can be unless we analyze them in hindsight.

Halo is not alot bigger than Smash, compare Halo 2 to Melee and Halo 3 to Brawl, in each case Halo won but not by a huge margin like ur claiming.
