Totally agree.  I even believe Xbox one has a chance to beat ps4 there . Well made thread.

No. Don't will happen...

The point is if the One has a chance and I believe it has a chance, that doesn't mean there is 100% probability it will do it.  Right now it's competing in the US so they can still turn things around.  By the way, I'm talking about US only.

The thing is, in the first year after launch, NEITHER console has a great lineup of exclusive titles...but next year, Sony is going to have AT LEAST 5-6 exclusive "AAA" titles (not timed) that the Xbox won't have...and that number will do nothing but grow.  Regardless of how you feel about the quality of individual titles, when you compare just the numbers, Xbox is coming up short in the software department.  I don't expect that to change.

Oh and btw yes, the Wii U has already been adjusted down by about 100k I think, but Seece's point still stands, Vgchartz has the Wii U at 6.54 million units at June 28th, by June 30th Nintendo had shipped 6.67 million units, meaning that at the sales rate Vgchartz is suggesting there were barely 2 weeks of stock at retailers at the end of June.

And remember, according to Vgchartz the Wii U had been selling at above 60k for 5 weeks at the end of June, so it would be reasonable to assume that retailers would start ordering more at that point.

So I agree with Seece, the Wii U being overtracked is more likely than some people would like to admit.

To be blunt and honest, I don't trust Sony either.  They seem like the type of company that would lie. lol

Yeah I'm sure Sony would lie and risk their entire reputation just for console wars on the internet.

It will only be ignored.  Sony first called the Wii remote a gimmick, then they made "Move" and everyone was like Yea!

That doesn't even begin to make sense.

Ugh, wha....?

Yet another thread detailing how wishful thinking is going to let the XB1 win this gen against it's competitors. Aint gonna happen. XB1 will end up third this gen.

It's about the XBone selling more in the US than the WiiU will WW. Not about the XBone finishing 1st overall.

There is also a lot of effort placed into the prediction, so no need to brush it off as something it's not.

Just saying.

Again, it's going to end up third, after the PS4 and after the WiiU.

That is actually by far the least likely outcome of the gen, well right after the PS4 ending up anywhere but first.

Assuming a longer lifespan for the X1, it might happen. But thruthfully, do you think Microsoft is gonna drag out this generation if they have 20m to PS4's 60+m. I dont believe they will. They will undoubtly rush next gen on us the way they did with the 360.

Taking this into account, i find it perfectly possible for Wii U to claim second place.

I have a feeling that the WiiU is going to do incredibly well this holiday season...don't underestimate Smash Bros as a system seller, nor the Skylanders clone thingys that they will be selling.

Agreed.  I am not convinced that the MS won't end up killing the XB1 off at some point soon if sales don't improve either.  This fall will be the test...if it can't sell well in China (doubtful that it will, but MS is putting a lot of hope in that market), or the rest of the "Tier 2" markets and continues to lose out to the PS4 in NA and the UK, they may very well decide to keep Xbox as a brand only for mobile gaming and kill off the money pit of a console.  (flame away, but that's my thoughts on it)

The Wii U is the wild card this generation. Xbox One and Playstation 4 has the same audience. Xbox One needs to hit 1080p first to take on the Wii U and Playstation 4.

absolutely correct my beliefs, which i feel should be required in a prediction thread from all participants in order to have better clearer debates

XB1 US 30M WW 50-60M
WiiU US 7M? WW 17-24M

now seeing these rough calculations its very apparent that the WiiU will not have a chance at this prediction or any sales prediction with XB1 outside JP. i really dont understand the outburst of XB1 vs WiiU sales debates on here as of late is it b/c the couple WW wins WiiU has been having? i cant wait till XB1 pass it WW in the next coming months so these topics wont exist so then we can get back to MS vs Sony the unfinished battle from last gen

i just dont get the WiiU vs Xb1 debates the consoles dont appeal to the same audiences the game library is to different it was the same last gen when it was Wii vs PS360

I'm going to wait and see how well Xbox One does when Destiny releases and when its October - December. I believe third party support is Xbox's biggest advantage and Halo should still be really big.
