Lets look at other big Wii U exclusives FW Japan. According VGChartz.

Pikmin 3- 96k
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD- 31k
Wii Party U- 76k
Super Mario 3D World- 102k
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze- 38k
Mario Kart 8- 334k

Hyrule Warriors- 64k (based on the 69k and 79k)

See its not that bad. If you take off Mario Kart 8, it looks very good
Btw i was expecting 25k Wii U sales but 18k is good

Of all of the above titles Hyrule W seems like the one that would be the most front loaded, obviously time may prove otherwise...

This list kinda reaffirms that most of Nintendo's first party titles flopped in Japan this era.

WHAT????!!!

Think I said 75k for Hyrule Warriors. Can't complain.

Also nice HW boost

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

About what I expected from Hyrule Warriors, software-wise. Wii U hardware's better than I expected, though.

Every game has a similar amount of days on the market for its first week. What day it was released usually has little effect on FW sales.

There was some weird delays on this game even selling as we saw from some store reports last week. I don't particularly understand why but the first day or two it was moving slow and then picked up fast by the end. Of course this was only from one retailer being quote on GAF.

Holiday is gonna be interesting.

At the time I thought ~100k for HW would be pretty decent, but apparently it couldn't even manage to reach that!

He's messing with you. HW is also short for hardware, as in Wii U hardware sales.

Maybe not most but a fair portion of the games that were supposed to support the system fell short (not neccesarily 1st party). Bar Wii Party U, only games with Mario in the title really performed well.

Wonderful 101; 50k Flop
Zelda Wind Waker HD; 100k flop
Donkey Kong; 110k flop
Pikmin 3; 250k decent
Hyrule Warriors; Weak Openning (likely will flop)

For a flagship title, anything less than 200k is a flop in my eyes.
