Forums - Sony - PS Plus refund?

Something fishy about your post and with an experiance I have had compared to Microsofts gold subscription.
Played World of Tanks 360 ed. and they were giving away rare over powered armoured german tank to new subscribers to xbox gold. Only to people that have gold could play the game being as it's online multi-player game. You could only get the tank by applying gold at the games start up screen.
Called Xbox help line from xbox.coms number listing and service a not as helpful as you make it seem. Had over 7 months till my Live service would expire and if I wanted to terminate it early that is exactly what would happen but no refund would be given.

So from my perspective, I think it's fishy how you bring up Microsoft and bringed up that you planned on selling BEFORE you cancelled.
PSN works on all PlayStation products, so were you thinking of getting a PS4 from what you get from your PS3? Do you have a Vita? Just wondering how much sooner or later, maybe even never that you would be using that service again?

This is why i don't put my bank card on my PSN account. Thieving bastards!

I always get gift cards instead but i don't know what to say to this. Probably won't get your money back

I think you are out of luck buddy. No refunds has been their policy from day 1...

I was given a refund when they first started the Auto-renew feature. I bought a year the day my PS+ sub expired and was also charged via auto-renew without the knowledge that the feature existed. The customer service guy i talked to gave me a refund with little hassle, but he did aslo say that would be the only time he could do that. Since then i stopped saving my CC info to PSN or any website/service. Auto-renew seems to be a trend now.

I only brought it up because it's been my experience in the past and was naive as a result. I'm looking for help (which some are giving, thankyou), I'm no Xbox fanboy if that's what you're implying. But when I couldn't use my account anymore they genuinely refunded a portion of my subscription.

Doesn't seem right....Apparently even if I insist that Sony close my account so that there is no way for me to access it ever again they still just keep the money. Microsoft refunded me. What's Sony's deal?

That's really strange that 2 different companies deal with things differently. I found it sort of weird at first that my PS3 games didn't work in my XBox360 I mean what's the deal with that?

In all seriousness tho, when you sign for psn+ you get a pretty damn big message telling you exactly where to go to disable the auto renew (at least on both the psvita and the ps3) not seen how it shows on the ps4 yet but yeah I mean if you didn't bother to read it and clicked next or the little X to get rid of it that is on you for ignoring it, read EULA's they'll save you money.

Yeah ok my bad. But doesn't it seem wrong? They could state anything they want in that agreement but here in Australia you're supposed to be able to insist on a refund for products. Services might be a different story though.

Hey guys/girls,

I'm selling my PS3 (ebay auction expires today) and my PS+ sub automatically renewed a few weeks back. I wasn't aware that this was the case until I saw my credit card statement and figured 'ah well I'm selling it anyway I'll just cancel my sub and get a refund for the remainder when I sell it'. I assumed that this would be fine as I'd done the same with Xbox Live when selling my 360 without any hassles.

So I called Playstation Australia this morning and they were very uncooperative. They told me that I was notified of the auto renewal system when I first signed up and that there is no way to close my PS+ accound and issue me a refund. This is despite the fact that I soon won't even have a device to use it on.

I'm hoping I was just dealing with one bad employee and that there is a way around this.

Anyone else had a similar issue?

Before you piss off your credit card company, I'd call Sony back and threaten to speak to your relevant consumer rights office (Office of Fair Trading in NSW: http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/About_us/Contact_us.html ).

Tell them you'll make a formal complaint. It is ridiculous to automatically charge you and not simply refund the difference when you ask them too.

That sucks. In defense of Sony, they dont have much money.

A lot of people don't know about auto renew. It on by default for Sony, not consumers.

The people who don't know about it, apparently shouldn't be allowed to do any business because they're unable or unwilling to read. You're notified about the auto renewal when you purchase it.

Sure Sony couldgo the extra mile for customer satisfaction but it's not like they are obligated to do it.

MS wouldn't have to do it either but that's the reason why they have the higher customer satisfaction.

In Australia they may very well be obligated to do it. I am not sure, but its worth the OP applying some pressure.

Well they don't technically have to do anything because you were notified of the autorenewal, but you can always just call them again and bitch them out over it. Yell loud enough and they'll eventually give in.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
