Phil's comments underline some important points.
The gaming public -is- mainly a boys club of young men used to getting everything their way. They expect products to be available to them if they are willing to pay, regardless of how they behave.
It also underlines that there are a select few loudmouths that ruin it for everyone else, by gunning for easy targets like emotionally unstable creators. Most of the people who would appreciate a FEZ sequel take no beef with Phil at all.
While Phil isn't the most diplomatic or eloquent, he is right in not being obligated to create anything for anyone, and his case should maybe lead us to consider whether we want to take issue with him, or the people who decide to insult him in public without knowing him.
