For those mentioning Fallout. It's an entirely different ballgame to Tomb Raider.

The last iteration, Fallout 3, sold over 9 million copies. 3.5m of those on the PS3. With the change to the gaming landscape over the past 2 years, they could be down by as much as 5 million copies by making it exclusive.

Even if Bethesda would consider it, it wouldn't be worth the asking price for MS.

Fallout would be a good one but I doubt it because of the popularity of the franchise.
Dead Space and Resident Evil on the other hand are not doing well (last game) so the deal may actually not be that expensive and help both MS and the game studio/publisher.

I echo the opinions of other users in saying either Fallout or Resident Evil. Most likely the latter.

Madden and all other EA IPs are already kind of exclusive thanks to  EX Access. If I was interested in sports games or EA games I would go to the Xbox One / EX Access.

Timed exclusive I dont think would take them much doing.

Tomb Raider sold the most on PS3/PS4 and that hasnt stopped SE from abandoning the platforms at launch. Could see the same thing happen with the likes of Fallout. Microsoft need game changers.

Fallout is a much bigger franchise than Tomb Raider still, and Microsoft would have to pay hundreds of millions for the 6 months of exclucitivity or whatever, not to mention paying enough that public backlash is ineffective. They could probably get the DLC as timed exclusives, though, like how they did last generation.

Of course, Microsoft is a walking bank. It really depends on just how much they are willing to pay for one game...


Yes Microsoft is a walking bank, but no bank in its right mind would pay craptons of cash without expecting a return on it, and the amount MS would have to pay to have Fallout timed exclusive would be so insane that they wont make a return om the investment.

I'd say Resi 7, as capcom is in financial dire straights.

I just wanted to add the "return on their investment" thing, as that is (it should be at least!) the deciding factor on whether to purchase exclusivity. Not to mention stock owners would flip the fuck out if they spent that much money on one single exclusive.
