Forums - General Discussion - How many metroids is the wii going to see?

funny king. Corruption is on track to sell a hell of a lot more than Echoes.

and Wii is on track to destroy GC, your point being? You'd expect it to sell more on a much more successful console, especially with a control system that was deemed (by Nintendo) to be better than keyboard and mouse control.

I'm not sure if we will. It's too bad since I loved the controls in Corruption, but we got a trilogy over two systems. Considering we usually only get one iteration of a Nintendo game a console, I'm not complaining

Not true.  Every one of their systems except for SNES has had at least 2 Zeldas, including Wii (Miyamoto said there will be one more).  NES had 3 Marios platformers, Wii has already seen 2 of them, with another on the way according to Miyamoto.  DS has 2 Mario platformers as well.  The GameCube had 2 Star Fox's.  The SNES had 3 Donkey Kongs. There were 3 Mario Party's for N64, and 4 for 'Cube.  The 'Cube and GBA have both had 2 Metroids.  There were 5 Pokemon RPGs for GBA (Ruby/Sapphire, FireRed/LeafGreen, Mystery Dungeon Red) and there are are already 3 for DS (Diamond/Pearl and Mystery Dungeon Blue) and 2 more incoming (2 more Mystery Dungeons).

So, while what you're saying is true for certain series', it's not definite.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Im guessing a 3d Super Metriod or Fusion remake and maybe a 2d wiiware game.

We have already seen it unfortunately. Sniff. Sniff. It has nothing to do with the sales which are pretty good for a Metroid game king lol. It has to do with the fact that the Metroid games are made in cycles. This was the end of the Prime trilogy and there won't be another Metroid game for a long time. Sales have never been awesome for Metroid. Just good. It's not really a shooter and not really an adventure game. It's somewhere in between. Gamers like Metroid. Not someone just looking at something on the shelf to pick up. It's a very good selling niche game. I'll stop rambling. Answer is 1. We've seen it.

We will see a 2d Metroid on WiiWare and a multiplayer add on for MP3 through WiiWare as well.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

Well back in the nes days it sold the same it sells now in the1-3 millions and that was really good back then. I don't think nintendo will stall it. The only reason why it took a skip of a generation because they wanted to figure out how to make the transition to 3d. We will have more metroids. The games make nintendo money so they will still keep making them.

No,we wouldn't, because we're notdumbass fanboys looking to moan at every Wii game that sells well. Get over yourself troll, you don't deem what is and isn't "enough" of a success.

Anyways, I think we'll get another Metroid gametowards the end of the generation. Right now I'm just hoping for Metroid 5 on DS.
