It took some time.. but i blame that on the low userbase (nexttime will be faster)

Yeah and add that most people which owns more than 1 system will likely get them on PS4/X1. I'm confident that Nintendo wants better 3rd party support but it's kinda late and that's not gonna change unless they try with a console on pair with the competition (hardware-wise) and give them more facilities.
Relationship with them would improve and I'm pretty sure this way Nintendo fans are gonna buy more 3rd party software... not only that, people who never bought a Nintendo system because lack of games, will consider getting one.
This is how I think they can fix the problem but other than that I fully agree with the OP
Nintendo had it during the NES and SNES days. They have screwed up since N64. They need to go the route of PS4 and Xbox, and make it multi media friendly and quit being so cheap and make the most powerful console. Then they can possibly recapture the core audience and keep Nintendo fans as well. It's that simple Nintendo!
It depends on the publisher. I feel that Ubisoft, WB and Activision are serious when they say they are studying WiiU sales and I think they do somewhat care. I think I can say the same thing with Sega, Capcom and Square Enix and other japanese publishers. Especyaly in the case of jap publishers, I think if sales pick up, we can seriously see new content that are different than on other platforms. We won't see RE7 but maybe something else much smaller but still fun. Kinda like Bravely Default on the 3DS.
As for most western publishers like EA, Bethesda, Take Two etc... Yeah, they don't give a F***

So if Wii U does end up in 2nd place in sales and its sales much better than the Xbox One then it will get third party support in between the Wii and Wii U's current support. |
Speak for yourself. With a few exceptiosn, Wii had a lot more third party games I actually wanted to play, such as MH3, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Zack & Wiki, Red Steel 2, Fragile, Muramasa, Little King's Story, Mushroom Men, Arc Rise Fantasia, Tales of Symphonia 2, Rune Factory Frontier, FFCC: The Crystal Bearers, Sonic Colors, No More Heroes, the Goldeneye remake (before it got ported), etc. etc. There were even a couple multiplats that I enjoyed more on Wii, in spite of lesser graphics (The Force Unleashed, Ghostbusters, etc.)
Of course it's always good/better for a console to get at least a good share of the multiplat titles, and there were a few at least that publishers had little to no excuse to put on Wii, such as SFIV, MvC3, GTA4, etc. They could have easily been done. They just didn't want to put in the effort. But by and large, I've never been all that much into many of the "big AAA" third party franchises anyway, such as GTA, CoD, Assassin's Creed, etc., so I didn't really feel like I was missing out on that much.
The problem Wii U is facing, is that at least for now, it isn't even getting the cool little exclusive third party titles like Wii got, that I listed above. Wii actually had a lot of third party support, it just missed out on many of the big HD titles that were on the other systems. Then again, it also got many of them, like Tomb Raider, and Splinter Cell, and CoD, and several of the Need For Speed games, and Rayman, etc.
Part of Wii U's issue is being gradually "fixed" by the ever growing number of indie titles coming to it. But it still needs those retail third party games as well. Me personally? I'm good with the first party Nintendo titles I actually want to play, supplemented by many of the indie games coming that I'm interested in. I prefer 2D gaming anyway, ultimately, and my of them are. But for many other gamers, I know, it would certainly help if at least SOME more of these third party games would come to Wii U as well, so they don't feel like they have to fork out more cash for one of the other consoles. The funny thing is, Wii U started with really strong support. And then when many of those games didn't sell well, that support dried up quick. That's pretty much literally how it went. If some of those games had sold better, and Wii U hadn't suffered the overall game drought for much of 2013, there's a good chance that we'd still be seeing much stronger third party support right now. But, it is what it is.

It's funny that you say "it's that simple", as if it really honestly is.
But the entire time you're forgetting one simple fact: Sony and MS are mega-companies with many other MUCH more profitible divisions outside of gaming, both of whom also have access to their own hardware resourses. None of which Nintendo has. Nintendo has to go to and partner with outside hardware companies. They also have to pay other companies to make their hardware for them, whereas Sony and MS at least to a large extent get all their hardware tech internally. Nintendo is a gaming company. That is 99% of what they do. They do not have the resources, even with all the $$$$ they're sitting on from Wii and DS, to make "the most powerful console". Them not doing so isn't them being cheap. It's them trying not to bankrupt themselves, by overpaying for super-powerful hardware, and then in turn passing the buck onto the consumer by charing $400-$500 for new hardware. They can't afford to do that, and even if they did, do you HONESTLY think that all the so called "hardcore" gamers out there, would come running?
No. They wouldn't. Because those so-called "hardcore" gamers have been buying and playing Playstation and/or Xbox for years, and aren't about to run out and buy a new Nintendo console as their "#1", even if it WERE the most powerful system with THE best games coming to it, hands down. It simply would not work out that way. The only way Nintendo really fucked up with Wii U, and this is the honest truth, is in their advertising. The system actually had a really strong launch. But the advertising backing it up was some of the WORST I've ever seen in my entire life. They were pointless, annoying commercials with god awful dubstep, that didn't tell the general audience what the fucking system was even about, much less why they should want one. That, and to a much lesser extent, arguably the extra silly name, are what really hurt Wii U. After that, it was the games draught that Nintendo themsevles stumbled on, as they obviously were expecting third party support to continue strong, and fill in the gaps for their own releases. They got caught with their pants down on that one, and I do really think it all partially started due to the crappy TV ads. They should have paid for a massive media blitz, showing off the GamePad, all the cool shit it can do, and showing off the launch window games. But they didn't. And they honestly haven't gotten a whole lot better in the NA ads department since. Whoever runs that department should be fired.

I meant games like Disney Infinity, COD, Skylanders, and Just Dance. Not Nights, Monster Hunter, Zack and Wiki, and etc. And the Wii was dumped with Ninja Bread Men quality games too, which Wii U has less.

No, I have probably played Nintendo games for longer then most Nintendo fans on this forum. I do not want Nintendo to recieve most third parties. Not all Nintendo fans are die hard fans and prefer Nintendo over other companies.

Okay so why do u not want Nintendo to recieve most third parties? Cause if Nintendo recieved it... There wouldnt be any harm done to anyone and it would make the wiiU more appealing in the eyes of many
